LIVERPOOL, England (AP) - Fernando Morientes, Luis Garcia and substitute Djibril Cisse scored a goal each Tuesday to give defending champion Liverpool a 3-0 victory over Anderlecht in Group G of the Champions League
Liverpool leads the group with 10 points from four games, while the Belgian club lost its fourth straight in the competition.
Morientes gave Liverpool a 1-0 lead in 34th minute. Coming down the right wing, Morientes settled a pass from midfield on his chest, then took a few steps and drove the ball behind Anderlecht goalkeeper Silvio Proto.
Liverpool dominated play in the first half and should have scored more. The English team continued to control the match in the second half and Garcia broke through in the 61st, heading in an 18-meter (yard) header that looped into the corner over Proto.
