Liverpool, Newcastle rival Spurs for Cesar

Liverpool and Newcastle United have joined Tottenham in their interest in Deportivo La Coruna defender Cesar.
Spurs have been consistently linked with the defender and Depor president Augusto Lendoiro has now invited interested parties to get in touch with a view to a securing a move during January's transfer window.
Cesar's contract runs out at the end of the season and the Spain international, who has made just two substitute appearances this term, is desperate to rekindle his career elsewhere.
"If there is a club that is interested in Cesar and they make their intention known then we will try to come to an agreement," Lendoiro said.
"Cesar wants to play, and we want him to play, so if he receives an offer then we will try to look for a solution that suits all parties."
Spurs may face stiff competition from Liverpool and Newcastle, who were both reported to be watching developments, but coach Martin Jol may also need to persuade the player that his future lies in England. -

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez says striker Djibril Cisse is now beginning to show his best form.
"I denied it but two days later they said it again, and threw in Cisse, but it is not true."
Benitez said: "Djibril was the main striker at Auxerre, and maybe was playing without the responsibility in defence or tactically.
"At Liverpool all the others are good players, and he has to work for them as well as himself.
"I think all the strikers are perhaps a little bit selfish, and maybe try to play for themselves.
"I think it was difficult to adjust from being the star man at a club, and then going somewhere with maybe five or six players at the same level, or even higher.
"But he is learning that now. If you want to win trophies, you need stars AND workers. The most important thing is not working hard, but working well."

Simao will be good for L'pool .
Just one match i saw him against MU , I'm impressed by him .
He were MU thorn in the flesh that night , and scored a spectacular free-kick .
He will solve L'pool problem on the left .
But ..... left side too many players leh , Zenden , Riise , Kewell .
Hope Simao can also ply on the right . -

Liverpool rival Man City for Fulham's Malbranque

Liverpool are ready to beat Manchester City for Fulham midfielder Steed Malbranque in January.
The Daily Star says Reds boss Rafa Benitez is ready to move for the Frenchman in the winter transfer window, particularly as he isn't Cup-tied from the Champions League.
City boss Stuart Pearce has also declared his interest, but Malbranque is understood to favour a move to the European champs -
but steed is not soo good on the right leh..

Di Vaio of Valencia and Fulham's Malbranque are the latest in a long line of players to linked with a January move to Anfield.
But Benitez is refusing to be drawn into transfer talk such as this and said today: "It is just newspaper talk, they like to speculate and continue to come up with lots of names."
He also stressed that rumours linking Harry Kewell with a move to Aston Villa fall into the same category. -
