Steven Gerrard is promising boss Rafael Benitez will sign some new "special players" in the January transfer window.
The England midfielder said: "It's an open secret that the manager is trying to bring in new players, and January is just around the corner - when there will be some special players joining the club.
"I can't wait. The boss has said he wants a right sided player, and from my point of view that will allow me to go back into the centre of midfield, and he also wants a new central defender -

Sad to say, he is actually play quite well after substituting for the unhappy frenchman.

Mark Gonzalez claims he will finally join Liverpool in two weeks.
The Chilean winger has seen his move delayed by a number of months after he saw his original transfer from Albacete scuppered when he failed to secure a work-permit.
However, Chile have since risen in Fifa rankings which has smoothed over the deal and Liverpool confirmed the deal was back on in October.
Gonzalez - currently recovering from a bad knee injury - claims he will be on Merseyside before the end of the year.
"I'll join Liverpool in two weeks and I'd be able to play a friendly in a month," Gonzalez said.
"I'm anxious to fly and be with my new team-mates. It's important to get used to my new team quickly.
"They know I'm a left-footed midfielder and like to attack.
"If the coach wants me to play in defence, I'll do it, because I want to get used to it as soon as possible." -

Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly ready to battle it out for the signature of Spartak Moscow defender Nemanja Vidic.
Russian club's chief executive Sergei Shavlo is demanding at least 13m euros (£8.79m) for the Serbia and Montenegro international and believes United are prepared to stump up the cash, with European champions Liverpool also interested.
"Vidic is a player in our team and we wouldn't like to let him go," Shavlo told 'Football, Hockey' magazine. "We'll try to do our best to keep him at the club.
"But if any club can offer us the proper price which we can use for signing another player of the same level we can accept that.
"This amount is equal to 13-15m euros. I think that we'll get similar offers.
"According to our information, Manchester United are ready to make an offer and probably Liverpool. It's good that the player has progressed so much during the last season."

i prefer vidic come next season. coz i scared if he comes in jan then no really much time for him to work wif his defensive partner hyypia/carra then if they dun "pei yang mo qi" then it will do more good than harm.

Benitezz will most very likely to settle his summer signings in Jan , or the prices of his choices will inflat after the World Cup .
This Russian defender will definitely go if Top European Club pursue him , but the final decision might lies on that Chelsea's Billionaire Boss Mr Roman , who has a share in the club .
Maybe Chelsea will hijack him from us ? And bench him ? -

Marseille coach Jean Fernandez is keeping his fingers crossed that the club can prise France striker Djibril Cisse away from Liverpool during the winter break.
Marseille president Papa Diouf has made little secret of the fact that Cisse is one of their main targets and is aiming to land the former Auxerre player on an initial six-month loan deal when the transfer window opens.
Marseille have struggled for success up front and with the African Nations Cup approaching - Senegal striker Mamadou Niang is their second top league scorer with four goals - Fernandez is hoping Cisse can be brought on board.
"I am not in the managers' confidence but I know that we really need a striker and I would be very, very happy to have Cisse, who is a great player with fantastic potential," Fernandez told television channel Canal Plus after his side's 1-0 win over second-placed Auxerre on Saturday evening.
"It would be an honour to have him with us."
Cisse, who has scored nine goals in 27 appearances for France, has struggled to tie down a first-team berth at Liverpool this season, finding himself behind Fernando Morientes and Peter Crouch in the pecking order.
The 24-year-old was again on the bench for Saturday's 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough. -

We pay aot of money for Cisse , and Benitez wouldn't be so stupid to loan him out .
If Marseille wants Cisse , a straight deal would be prefer by Ah Ben .
For me , a straight deal , the money which we paid Auxerre .
That 18 million i think ? Would be handful , maybe 3 good players from Spain . -

for the left side. i think kewell can play as a CM or a supporting striker. zenden n gonzalez on the right side. risse will be left back like now. either warnock or traore can be sold. if wanna keep both of them then riise will be back up LM. like zenden is out for the season then riise got chance. anyway its good to buy players who can take up various roles
