Bobby convinced Alan Shearer to stay for one more season and to make him a player-manager.
For the present manager Souness, Shearer dun see any hope of taking the manager role that he have coveted.
Maybe he is trying to coax the Newcastle Management in sacking Souness and letting him take over if they want him to play on.

As for Liverpool, they played with heart and gut last night.
Nando is still need more matches to score his goal.
As for Garcia, he is losing ball less and becoming more and more sulky.

Souness needs to work on his team's defence. They are in shambles almost every week. How can he live with that?
He's got a prized asset in Michael Owen. But everything builds from the back. If the defence is weak, the team will still struggle. He should have used to money he spent on Luque to get a better centre half.
Right from the start, it was a dominating performance from Liverpool. I think they were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was against Newcastle. Corressponding fixtures before have always been closely fought affairs. -
Seeing how Liverpool plays right now made me proud as a Liverpool fan.

I was surprised to see Gerrard coming in and pushing NC players as well. As the captain, he shall be the one calming his team, not instigating fights.
If I were Rafa, the first thing I'll say in the dressing room was to give the entire team a good reprimand. "What the hell were you guys doing?" etc etc. -
As the captain , it's Gerrard's job is to protect his fellow team mates at that time .
Crouch is alright to get a yellow , not a red !
Bowyer's reputation not too good to do this sort of tackles . Any ref wil warrant him a straight red . Dangerous driving la !! -

gerrard's goal was fantastic.
there were 6 newcastle players around him. he made them look silly. -
Full marks to Liverpool, they kept up the tempo and the pressure. We did sod all without Parker (WOE was N'Zogbia expected to do in the centre?), and Bowyer disgraced himself yet again with what looked like a rash tackle on Garcia (?).
It was a shame to see Taylor injure himself again, he seems to be growing more confident the more he plays. I'd like to see what happens when Moore makes his appearance. -
It was a fantastic performance... Crouch was stupid to get a yellow card...i expect RAFA to lecture him for that.... Today New Paper puts Rafa as the SPECIAL ONE instead of Mourinho.... i think its very justified... that the fact is that he just do his work...not talk and talk and talk....

i was more surprised to see crouchy pushing bowyer
he doesn't look like the type who will do that ... but i agree stevie g should be pulling players apart rather than pushing them ...
the incident also showed how close the team has become ... ah ben would be pleased with that i think, but he would also want them to control themselves better like you said ... -
