REDS TO PLAY SAPRISSA IN WORLD CLUB SEMI

Liverpool will play Deportivo Saprissa in the semi-final of the FIFA Club World Championship after the Costa Rican side defeated Sydney FC in today's quarter-final.
A 47th minute strike from Christian Bolanos was enough to earn Saprissa a 1-0 victory over the Australians in the Toyota Stadium and the right to meet the Reds in Yokahama on Thursday.
Saprissa qualified for the 2005 Club World Championship by defeating Pumas UNAM of Mexico 3-2 on aggregate in the CONCACAF equivalent of the Champions League, winning 2-0 at home and losing 2-1 away.
They are based in the Costa Rican city of San Jose and are the country's most successful club. In winning the CONCACAF Champions League they have managed to break a Mexican stranglehold on club football in this area of the world. Coached by former Costa Rican international Hernan Medford they are known as the 'Purple Monsters'.

If Liverpool played against San Paulo in the final, they will have a hard time scoring after I saw them playing this evening.
They defend with 9 men and one lone striker in front - just like Liverpool.
Their midfield is pretty strong in holding and snatching possession.
Their attack is fast and furious.
It will be interesting to see how Ah Ben deal with such a strong team. -

They played well with Stevie around.
If I am San Paulo, I will marked Stevie for the final.
They played well as the opponent left a lot of space in defence.
Garcia was a disgrace for not providing Crouch the open hat-trick. -

1stly, due to long travel to asia;
2ndly, they will take lightly of their opponents;
3rdly, most of the opponents are unknown and that is the dangerous part;
lastly, south america teams are quite strong teams.
last time man u also cmi in world club cup. take this cup seriously, pool will suffered injuries and it can be quite a waste of effort since this cup is just a 'friendly' tournament.
anyway, i hope liverpool all the best. -
me watched only the first half , a waste of time , Liverpool superior in all department .
So sad , the Costa Rican 'keeper first touch is to take the ball out of the net .
