Statistics are like bikinis...show a lot things but hide the most important things. Many of those shots we made are the "whack and hope" type from Xavi and Momo. Some are shot directly at the GK.
We could have done much more with our set pieces though.

Ah Ben also put the "always threatening" Crouch on the bench , playing Morientes and Kewell , like that of course got problem upfront .
Think Benitez promised the guys all of them will get a chance to play , and he also thought of the bigger picture , big picture as in our EPL X'mas fixtures , to avoid players playing too much .
Especially seeing Newcastle whacked WestHam 4-2 , MU beat Villa , Benitez will certainly plot a strongest and injury-free squad against Newcastle . -

I was just saying that the statistics showed Liverpool dominating and it was a fact. It never did hide anything. Statistics don't lie. A shot is a shot. An attempt is an attempt. At the keeper, away from goal, they are all attempts at goal. It only reflects how poor the finishing was for the night. Domination was clear.
And I don't think Sao Paolo chose to defend. Seriously, I think they had no choice but to defend. I've never seen a brazilian team forced to defend like that.
Anyway, the final is over, cup was lost. Now they must put behind the setback and concentrate on doing well in the Premier League!

It was a game of 2 halves. Milan dominated the first, Liverpool just overran them in the second. Extra time was closely fought. Both sides could have won it then. Of course, this is only my opinion.
I don't think Milan were the better side. I thought they way they crumbled was not typical of deserved champions. On the other hand, Liverpool showed tremendous spirit in coming from 3 goals down. That by itself should have made them deserved winners already.
Besides, when they got to the spot kicks, technicality was tested and Milan just flopped. Serginho blasted way over, Pirlo passed the ball to Dudek and Schvenchenkp ate his own words (Before the final, he claimed no one can stop him). So, really, Milan really plotted their own defeat. -

It's only the player selection that bothers me a bit...but I love the way we got foward, the formation we are using is good enough which probably explains the dominance as well.
But Rafa's selection of players baffles me sometimes. -

Not a good feel 2 lose....but life goes on!
If anything, we can say we are proud of their performances....on another day, we wld prolly've thrashed them!

Sometimes you played badly and won , sometimes you played well and lost .
Unfortunately we belong top the latter .
U just got to forget the lost and move forward .
On a brighter note , if we played so well effectively like that against any opponent in the EPL , we are safe !
Our future is very safe . -

back to the UCL argument ..... AC Milan better ? A good team never concedes 3 goals in 10 minutes .
Only sour-grape anti-Liverpool fella would say Liverpool is lousy that night .
