We can be number 1? As in we lose 3 match in the remaining, draw 5 and win the rest. How many must Chelsea flop in order for us to lead the table and possibly win it?

chelsea has to lose 4 games more than liverpool and what about the goal difference?
chances are very very low. -
Liverpool are 17 points away from Chelsea , with 2 games in hand .
If we got all 6 points from the games in hand , we narrowed to 11 points .
11 points meaning Chelsea has to drop 3 matches , and 2 draws .
Or Cheslea has to go down 4 in a row .
Or draw 11 matches til the end of the season .
And Liverpool needs to win all !!! -
errrrr.... sorry to disappoint everyone but realistically, you are looking at Chelsea losing at least 6 games in the remaining 17 games. This is taking into consideration that Liverpool will drop points in 2 or 3 games. Don't see that happen.

Not easy to pick 6 teams that will beat Chelsea especially when they are playing at home.
The problem is that Chelsea will grind out win after win and the time will come when other teams will not have enough games to catch up. -

i think it is not unfair to say chelsea will win it.
the rest will be fighting for the 2nd automatic CL spot. -

I believe Arsene Wenger is right to surrender , but i had doubts about Man Utd surrendering , Ferguson must be playing mind games with Mourinho .
Mathemetically , MU and Liverpool still stands a chance , it's not really over yet .
January to May , still got five months to go , who knows ..... Chelsea's key players like Lampard , Makelele and Terry , and Cech might just get injured , no doubt they had a big squad , it's a question on whether the rest of the squad can get similiar result or not , it's for us to see .

1.If John Terry is out , do you think they have enough cover for the centre of defense ?
2.If John Terry and Cech are out , do you think Ruth and Cuducini can do similiar job ?
3.If Lampard is out , do you think any other player from Chelsea can contribute like Lampard did ?
4.If Makele is out , and Essien out , do you think Chelsea can play as well ?
No doubt they have billions to spent , but don't forget , they can't buy any after the January's transfer window .

Why is most , if not everyone saying Chelsea is running away with the title ?
No doubt they have depth in the team , so does to Arsenal a few years back , i remember Arsenal were 10 points ahead of MU one season , and all of a sudden , they lost to MU , Liverpool and Bolton and eventually lost the Title to MU .
The fact remains , there' always a chance to catch up if there's a mathematic possibility .
This math is simple , Liverpool and MU win all the games , and Chelsea loses three , and the game is on .

that's why you never hear Benitez said Chelsea is going to win the title , or surrendering the title to Chelsea , 'cos within Benitez and the fans , we knew what we are capable of , and we just don't care how Chelsea fare , we need to focus our next game . and win .

Ever thought why they need to catch up...Coz they are dropping points against lesser oppositions...Simply stop this and it will be a close fight.
Still remember few seasons back. Arsenal and man u were devouring all the smaller clubs..They simply could not fight back and could only resort to mass defending to avoid getting drubbed. But that aura of dominance is gone from the rivals...Thats all i can see...

even though it is not " mathematically " over but we all know all that it is over Ferguson and Rafeal Benitez and Arsene Wenger all 3 of them know it Chelsea are not possible to drop that much points judging from the depth of the squad they had
