New signing David Martin says he is absolutely over the moon to sign for Liverpool from MK Dons and the England Under-20 international goalkeeper wants to make the most out what he calls an unbelievable challenge.
Martin, who is 20 on January 22nd, wants to work hard and repay the faith shown in him by the coaching staff at Anfield.
"This is an unbelievable challenge for me and Liverpool have given me this chance and I just want to return the favour by working as hard as I can," Martin told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"It's not quite sunk in at the moment that I'm now playing for the European Champions and it will probably take me a few more months to realise that.
"Training at Melwood is unbelievable. With no disrespect to Milton Keynes and what I was used to there this is just out of this world and everyone has made me feel so welcome."
David is the son of Alvin Martin, the former West Ham United and England defender who was born in Liverpool, so he has family already in the city to help him settle.
Martin said: "Settling in won't be a problem for me as I feel at home already as my dad is from Liverpool and the majority of my family live here in the city. I'm staying with my nan and grand-dad at the moment and I know the town quite well."
that definitely means Dudek is going off.....
lower team wage bills too... good move...
chris kirky is off too i guess
kirky could have been a regular at the kop but houllier didn't use him much so he got worser due to lack of matches as well as his confidence
Dudek's wages really put off Benitez , for Ah Ben , Dudek's wages can get a couple of relatively good players from the La Liga , by getting Martin replacing Carson at the reserves , move Carson up as No.2 . This way better , if not , if sell Dudek first , than find a replacement , we will get bully by inflated prices .
Kirkland's injuries problem brought him down .
