It will be easier for Shephard to get a Souness' replacement if The English FA has got their replacement for SG Ericsson . -
Since the part time one can hold for 12 weeks, maybe Newcastle will wait till end of season, then Alan Shearer go take the exam for UEFA licence and later become Newcastle manager in the next season.
We all know it'll be coming.

Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd intends to convince Martin O'Neill to take on the manager's job with the promise of a £30 million transfer pot.
The News of the World says Shepherd will move for O'Neill this week as a replacement for Graeme Souness, who was sacked on Thursday.
Shepherd's No1 choice, England boss Sven Goran Eriksson, is unlikely to decide on his future until after the World Cup.
A Newcastle source said: "Martin will be approached this week about whether he'll move to Newcastle. The club hope he will accept the offer but everything is still up in the air.
"However, Freddy will make it clear funds will be made available to bring in the players he wants."
Obviously the favourite are now Martin O'Neil....... -

uncle bobby shd never have been sacked in the 1st place. he shd be the one grooming shearer for the hot seat when he finally decides to retire... just my 2 cents worth -
i like the looks of o'neil...
would be good if they got an honest-to-goodness man like pierce... but i think he's a man of honour who will serve MCFC well
however, if they put in sven goran, i foresee a mess.. -

i'm not sure if o'neill is going to sacrifice his personal life just to manage nufc. after all, he quitted because he wanted to take care of his ill wife. paul le guen did very well in french league but will there be a communication problem?? i think there's a big risk in doing that.
not sure if nufc can afford sven, both his wages and his media profile. scolari is probably up for the england job, so nufc is out of the question. i think our cheapskate chairman is going to appoint somebody who is decent but easy on the financial wages side, eg. big sam or steve bruce. hopefully not, but our stingy fat fred loves $ so much he'll wanna keep it for himself. who else would hire sou to take over from sir bobby? even i wouldnt have done that. -

anybody can speak english, but to what extent? remember how ranieri was during the first years of his chelski career. and what a difference language brings after he spoke english fluently.

Shepherd: Toon may turn to foreign coach
Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd has left the door open for a foreign manager to succeed Graeme Souness at St James' Park.
Shepherd has also admitted he is prepared to wait until after the World Cup to land the right man for the job - bringing the likes of Guus Hiddink, Luiz Felipe Scolari and even Sven-Goran Eriksson into the equation.
He told the Sunday Mirror: 'In the past I have expressed a preference for a British manager but I feel that at this difficult time we have to look at every option open to us.
'That means we will be looking at every available candidate, no matter which country they coach or manage in.

Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is on Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd's shortlist to succeed sacked manager Graeme Souness at St James' Park.
The Sun says the Brazil World Cup winner tops Shepherd's shortlist - alongside Martin O'Neill - for the Magpies hotseat.
Scolari wants to move to England after the World Cup and is already taking English lessons in preparation. -
