Liverpool was unable to overcome a toothless Wigan.
The only difference of the match is Steven Gerrard.
I have watched the whole match closely and make the following observations:
- Keng-well is playing below standard and playing to get into the World Cup in June.
The above comments were made by one of the ESPN guest commentators. After playing special attention to him last night, I have to agree that Keng-well is in the Liverpool team to play as S-League standard. He did not peform the effective role of left wingers and not commited in making any tackles for fear of injury. He must be TAKEN OFF.
- RIISE have to stay as Right-Back.
The solid defence of Liverpool was rocked with the substitution of Warnock and Taore. Ah Ben have to stick with the only defence line-up.
- Nando is playing Like Garcia, but not scoring like Garcia
The striker was seen losing possession at the slightest tackle. Although he is able to provide intelligent passes and set-up, he is often found in the 2/3 of the field getting the ball and out of the forward portion of the field. The only solution is play him more often to get his match sharpness. If he stays scoreless for the next season, clear him.
- Liverpool is Lazy Midfield.
The midfield of Liverpool rarely move forward to the forward portion of the field to provide support and fight for lost possession. They like to play long ball to the strikers and see them suffered against 4 defenders. That is why when Steven is not around, NO ONE in the midfield will move forward to regain possession.
- Dudek is BACK.
Although out for half a season, Dudek was impressive last night in stopping a freak own goal by Hyypia. I predict he will be the hero for the Arsenal game. -
It seemed to me that the present Liverpool team is indeed very tired.
That's why you see them using the long-ball approach. Waste less energy overall.
Or maybe they're thinking about the next three games. As I said, those three will define 'Pool's season. -
How come when John Terry scores the only goal for Chelsea to win and no one said it's a freak goal? He did it a couple of times somemore.
Don't care who scores. A win is a win.. even if the ref deflects the goal... its a win
