First half : L'pool 1 - MC 0 .
Wonderful display .
Desire , hunger , imaginative , hardworking , well-organised , composure .
Man City is a bit disappointing today , to be honest .
This is what we lacking against Benfica . If we do like this against Benfica two wks later , Benfica are in deep deep trouble .
Alonso out with double vision . Head injury .
Hamman is fantastic coming in for Alonso .
Kewell is playing very well , his speed seem to be coming back to his usual best .
Aggar and Kromkamp doing a relatively good job .
Second half coming up , L'pool should be cruising thru .....
Liveropool should get another two goals .
3-0 to Liverpool . -
with sissoko out for the season, cant afford to have alonso missin too. good job from pool. learnt their lesson at benfica

when gerrard is playing it makes alot of difference..
and yes,man city is disappointing considering that stuart pearce is their manager you would expect more fight from them.. -

i stress that liverpool rrly need a finisher instead of relying on midfielders to score

Oh yeah, Alonso got taken out for fear of aggravating injuries.
So, no one to score an own goal. Whew!
3 points and we're now level with Man U. Hope they lose their coming game and next EPL game. -

i expected MC to come atraight at us from the second half , and begin the initiative , but they didn't .
I abit disappointed at MC's display , lacklustre !
Reira were not controlling the midfield , Samaras were trap too many times fouling us .
Siberski were not in his usual self , his towering figure not commanding enough .
A well deserve win by Liverpool . -
Before the game , MC boss Mr.Pearce were interviewed , this is the content .....
Manchester City visit Anfield on Sunday with their manager Stuart Pearce labelling Liverpool as the best side in the Premiership and the main title contenders to Chelsea.
Pearce is a great admirer of Rafael Benitez and the job he has done at Anfield and believes the Reds will win the Premiership title under the Spaniard.
"Liverpool are Chelsea's biggest rivals now," reasoned Pearce. "In fact, on form, they are currently the best side in the Premiership, and I include Chelsea in that.
"Eighteen months ago, people would have said United and Arsenal were nearest but Liverpool have now catapulted themselves into that category.
"People talk about the standards Liverpool set in the past but they are not too far away from that now. They are the European champions for a start and you can't do much better than that."
The former England hero likes the way Liverpool defend and believes his players can learn a lot from the likes of Sami Hyypia and Jamie Carragher.
"You have to admire how their back four works together," added Pearce. "I watched the Manchester United game and they were so well organised defensively it was untrue. The tightness of that unit is incredible.
"It would be fantastic to be able to take some of my young defenders to a game at Anfield and show them how the two centre-halves in particular work together. It is a fantastic example for any young player.
"Anfield has traditionally been a difficult ground for anyone to go to, not just us.
"If we did get a result it would galvanise us, give some of the young lads a big lift in confidence and an extra sense of belief about what we have to come.
"There is a good feeling in our squad. We have our tails up a little bit and we are getting one or two of our senior players coming back to full fitness, which will help us.
"Hopefully we can put a decent run together between now and the summer and win as many games as we can." -
Mr Pearce is a no-nonsense person , he never talk rot !

The only consolation is the victory.
The sad thing is that Liverpool is unable to overcome the number advantage to beat 10 men Man City.
So, Liverpool is still miserable in scoring goal.
They need to buck up to survive in Champion League.
Observed a very dark patch on Harry Kewell's forehead during the ESPN interview. -
Anyone thought during the match that Samaras and Morientes could be passed off as twin brothers? Even their hairstyles are the same.

Strikers still firing blanks
always at the wrong place at the wrong time. Crouch's shots all seem so weak. He really need to build up his physical side. He have to be more aggressive when charging forward.
Whatever the case, it's 3 points in the bag and putting pressure on Man U to perform -
