  Liverpool scouts were out in force last night acting on the instructions of boss Rafael Benitez.
  
  According to Insider sources, a number of players were checked out, one of which was on the move not so long back for £20million+.
  
  Rafa is currently examining his options for the summer ahead of next week's rumoured meeting with Rick Parry to discuss the transfer kitty.

  Actually, I like SWP.
  
  English, knows the EPL more. Better than players who can perform very well in other leagues but flopped in the EPL.
  
  But whether Moan-in-a-hole will sell him to us is another matter.

  Reading or Sheff Utd could always have some use for him when they come up.

  There were speculation that Ian Wright told SWP that he made the wrong move to Chelseas , it's Liverpool he should have signed for .

  Benitez wants to splash the cash in the summer, with a £10million bid for Spurs striker Jermain Defoe top of his list.
  
  The Reds boss also wants to prise right winger Shaun Wright-Phillips from Chelsea - and is prepared to pay £15million for his services.
  
  And the final piece of his jigsaw would be a new centre-half, with Birmingham's Matthew Upson, West Ham star Anton Ferdinand and Real Zaragoza's Gabriel Milito the men in the frame.
