Everton manager David Moyes admitted he was disappointed with the performance of his team in their 3-1 derby defeat and felt the Blues should have taken better advantage of the extra man.
Moyes felt it was a below par performance by his team and added his defenders struggled to cope with the physical presence of Peter Crouch.
"We are disappointed as we didn't play as well as we would have liked to have done," explained Moyes.
"We had a mad five minutes when we found ourselves 2-0 down conceding just before half-time and then at the start of the second half. I didn't think we deserved to be 2-0 down but that's the way it goes sometimes. It wasn't a good day for us.
"Crouch caused us problems and he is a very difficult to play against because he is so big as well as being a good player." -

Think most of you miss out on the Standing Ovation for Crouch when he was replaced by Morientes , in the 80th minutes .

A good player is one that is freaking consistent at being good.
Is he one?
Hard to say yes. -
i still have my reservations aobut his goal scoring ability..

i still think he's not very good..
for a big guy, he was beaten to the ball in headers by a lot of people.. even bloody Tim Cahill!
and the other things, i dunno how good he is.. coz he's rarely if ever won the ball!

I do think Crouch has a long way to be a consisitent performer.
Strangely enuff, with his height advantage.. he is BETTER with his feet than his head. His headings are awwwwful for a front/target man. He look very suspect on the turn as well... not very fast for EPL. -

and I do applaud for his positive attitude thou. Tries very hard, calls for ball and helps in the defence.
But he jolly well knows, he needs to work real hard in his headers... GOAL-bound.

being a striker , he might not possess the goal consistency , but let's look at his overall contributions , his aerial threat , his holding capability , his defensive qualities , his ball control , his movements etc ...... i would say he's an asset to the team . Anyway, main point in a good player is to make sure his team wins, through his contributions, even if he is to score 0 goals for the season.

his physique should gives him all the advantages to head in goals beyond the reach of other players. however, i am trying very hard to recall when he last demonstrated that.
nevertheless, i respect him as a good team player. -

I think it depends on how you want to judge the player.
If you are looking for someone who can get you 30 goals a season, then Crouch is obviously not the best person to do so.
But if you are looking for a big target man that other players can play off to, then Crouch is perhaps one of the best in the world at that.
The problem with Liverpool is that they are relying on Crouch for the goals. They don't have a natural goal poacher that can benefit playing off Crouch and bang in the goals.
So until Liverpool find someone like Scvchenko or Michael Owen to play alongside beanpole, I don't think the criticism for Crouch will ever stop.
