Former Liverpool defender Neil 'Razor' Ruddock believes Robbie Fowler will hang up his boots if he doesn't earn a new contract with the Reds.
Although Fowler wouldn't be short of offers if released by Rafa in the summer, Razor believes his former team-mate wouldn't want to play for another club again.
Razor said: "Knowing Robbie he'd probably give up rather than go somewhere else.
"The appetite would still be there but the heartbreak of not getting another contract might make him think twice about carrying on.
"If Robbie doesn't get a contract Liverpool have got to go out and sign three quality strikers.
"Cisse hasn't done it, Morientes hasn't done it. That leaves just Peter Crouch and Robbie, who's still scoring goals at the top level.
"To me he looks fitter and sharper than he has done in years and the Liverpool fans love him.
"If Benitez wants the fans firmly behind him it would be a good move to keep Robbie.
"Even if he isn't going to start regularly, Robbie's great to have coming off the bench.
"He's fantastic to have around in the dressing room and he always gets the crowd going whenever he plays." -
sorry to bring this up again , but anyone disagree on Ruddock's comments ?

Fowler is definitely one of the performing strikers now, followed by crouchie..
moro & cisse have got to go soon, they are just missing sitters game by game..

or maybe the age factor made pearce think that fowler may not be able to command a starting place because he believes fowler possibly can't last a whole 90mins..
look how fowler has been performing since his return to anfield? you can't possibly doubt his performance right now eh? -
Comitment wise , no one can doubt Fowler .
Fitness wise , he might not be 90 minutes fit , but he has been trying very hard after relaxing for a number of years at Leeds and Man City .
Desire wise , who has more desire and hunger than born-and-breed Liverpudlian Fowler ?
Money wise , heard Fowler is been paid only about 20,000 pounds per week , compared to Raul 112,000 pounds per week , who's more worthwhile ? a 29-yr-old and a 31-yr-old ?
One has a proven record , and one younger , but tested in the English league .

Stevie is still not mature and stable.
But, Ah Ben should have other ideas on how to ignite his Rafalution.

his comments about robbie makes a lot of sense ...
there's no doubt robbie still has what it takes at the top level ... class is permanent, form is temporary ... i think it would be hard, however, for other managers to bring out robbie's desire to play for that club ...
in my opinion it'd be hard for ah ben not to sign him ... ah ben wants players with skills, brains, and desire ... robbie has got them all ... keep banging the goals in robbie ...
