Yeah. Ok, I admit that I'm United fan but i must really praise Gerrard for leading an out-of-sort Liverpool. Gerrard tactical awareness is second to none. His dedication and motivation somehow spurred the rest of his team mates to play well for Liverpool. I don't hate Liverpool unlike some self-proclaimed soccer and United fanatics. I respect Liverpool. But u muz agree with me that without Gerrard, Liverpool is a goner.

when it comes to team sports, the result of 1+1 does not always give u the result of 2.
arsenal looked distorted when they sold vieira, but they are now in champ final with new talents like fabregas.
man utd sacked their inspirational captain, roy keane but they end the season with 2nd placing.
all teams have certain degree of dependacy on someone/something like how liverpool rely on stevie at times. after all, we dont call it a team sport for nothing. try imagine how it is like for chelsea without roman's money, man utd without freguson/rooney and arsenal without henry/wenger.
so to say liverpool is a goner without stevie is a harsh statement, considering that he is a product from liverpool's academy. plus, it not as if liverpool did not win a single game without gerrard. -
No, I don't agree. Gerrard is a big assert to the club , no doubt about it but we can stlll win games without him. One big example : Liverpool vs Everton , Gerrard sent off 18 mins of play. Stevie is special in inspiring the team and believing victory to the last minute.
Even Ah Ben admits at 90 mins that Liverpool have lost the Cup.
Stevie is same as Henry and Keane as they battle every game like a warrior.
Soccer need special people like them to spice up the game.
It will be a boring final if Liverpool is 5 - 0 at the half time.
I have to admit that Liverpool is still slightly disadvantage without gerrard considering there is only one guy that can score up front. -
i m a 101% newcastle fan but i really admire s.gerrard.. he is a really special player.. how i wish he can come to newcastle jus like owen.. hehe..

i find that liverpool is a one man team but because alot of people look up to stevie g and expects him to do something, and he has the ability to conjure something out of nothing, but really, strikers like cisse,morientes needs to score more to relieve him of the burden..
sure he is the captain and needs to lead, but sometimes i think they over rely on him, and liverpool as a team, should believe more in themselves rather then stevie g..my opinion..

Oh really? I think they're riding on their luck as well as their talismatic striker Henry. Like Liverpool, if Henry leaves Arsenal, they'll be out of top 5.

Fergie has his own way of doing things. Look at how United coped without Ince(Went to Inter then to *er-hem* Liverpool), Stam, Beckham and other players? Yes, no doubt that Keane is inspirational. But his influence is fading as he reaches retirement. 2nd placing was, honestly speaking, a little underperformed if u compared the money spent in recent years.

man utd is not even within comparison given that you regard 2nd placing as underperforming. (btw, man utd thrashed a team whom manager was busy planning his vacation)
players evolve, so do clubs.
if gerrard had gone to chelsea last summer, liverpool would have find alternate means to fill up the gap like how fabregas over vieira. (still rem how fabregas showed vieira a lesson or two when arsenal last met juventus?)
i would see liverpool being a better team with gerrard than nothing without him.
as i have mentioned, gerrard is a product of liverpool academy. with that, i can easily say that gerrard is nothing without liverpool.
simiarly, if wenger didnt buy henry from juventus, he would have rot there and probably under investigation for fixing matches now, let alone being the player responsible to keep arsenal within top 5.
btw, i dont even know if we could have discuss about liverpool's FA cup success if reina didnt make the last ditch save and stopped three penalties. gerrard brought the team beyond extra time, but he still has to rely on reina to perform in the sudden death. so is liverpool nothing without reina?
and if we really want to trace all the way back, it was crouch who met finnan cross to win manchester united before they crossing swords with chelsea and west ham. so is liverpool nothing without crouch?

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admits his wonder goal on Saturday was a fluke!
Gerrard was struggling with cramp and his side were trailing 3-2 to West Ham as the game went into injury time.
It was then he came up with his second goal of the match - an amazing 35-yard piledriver that forced the FA Cup final into extra-time.
He admitted: "I did not hear the stadium announcer say how much extra was being added but I knew there wasn't long left and it was really hard - I was all over the place.
"Just before that goal I had taken a free-kick and it nearly went out of the stadium, so I was delighted to hit my next shot like that.
"I didn't mean to put it exactly there but knew if I got good contact it would hit the target and I caught it really sweetly."
Gerrard then had to undergo the agony of 30 minutes of extra-time and a penalty shootout - when he netted again.
He said: "In extra-time, I just didn't want the ball. I just kept looking at the clock and wanting it to run out. I had absolutely nothing left.
"We basically finished the game with about five men! People were going down with cramp all over the place because we'd put so much effort in.
"For my first goal it just sat up really nice to volley it. For my second I had a bit of luck in there as well.
"I don't tend to get two goals in a game very often but I remember the knockdown for the first one was perfect." -

Rafael Benitez shrugged off suggestions that Liverpool rely too heavily on Steven Gerrard by insisting: "We could still have won the Cup without him."
Gerrard was the star of the show in Cardiff on Saturday as he made one goal, scored two others and then netted again during the penalty shoot-out as Liverpool won the FA Cup for the seventh time.
Despite a man of the match display at the Millennium Stadium, Benitez insists his side could still have triumphed even without their talismanic skipper.
"I don't think we'd have lost if we didn't have Stevie because we have played a lot of games without him," said Benitez.
"Maybe we would have needed to have done different things, but I am very clear on that.
"He has scored 23 goals this season and it is outstanding for a midfielder to get that many.
"We know that we need to leave him to go forward and play his own game. That is the reason why we have Xabi Alonso and Sissoko.
"You talk about Stevie but if you don't have Sissoko working as hard as he has been, the balance of the team would be impossible.
"If you want to win trophies, you need a good team and some top class players after that. Stevie is one of the best players in the world, but we have a good team." -

and every club is nothing without money..........not only chelsea......there will be always money invovle even if chelsea don't have megabucks they will still bring in quality players as can be seen from the past few years before Jose.M and R.A came in and took over

it is a bit exaggerating to say that liverpool is nothing without gerrard.
but it is indeed true that gerrard is the main motivator in the liverpool squad. -
