Downing for LIverpool?

Liverpool are chasing Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez made regular checks on Downing, 21, over the closing stages of the season and was mightily impressed.
He is still keen to land a wide player, despite Chilean Mark Gonzalez's imminent arrival from Albacete after a work-permit wrangle delayed the deal last year.
Now much will depend on Boro playing ball on Downing, who is under contract until 2010.
Hmm.. if he arrive and Mark Gonzales managed to get his work permit, does that spell the end of Kewell??

I think adam johnson and james morrison would be better than downing in years to come

It's not difficult to convince Downing to sign for Liverpool .
We can match his salary , or even better salary , and of course , which player do not want to be part of Liverpool and UCL ?
Can Boro can make it into the Top-4 every year ? And UCL every year ? -

Is Stewart Downing good enough for Liverpool?
I am not sure we need another left sided midfield player. There are already quite a few at Liverpool now. And Fabio Aurelio is coming from Valencia in the summer already! -

Here are a few links to show that he does play in left midfield. In fact I do remember that he has even played upfront as striker before for Valencia! He is a versatile player!

benitez has talked about having to spend tonnes of money on english players when he can get established foreign ones for far less cheaper, thats why he has nv recruited one so far. except for crouchy, and that was only when saints were relegated

n how about walcott? his fee is gonna increase base on appearence..(mayb thats y wenger still dun dare to play him till new stadium opens)..
but then i do hope to see more english players playing for Pool.. currently we only have gerrard, carragher,fowler n crouch.. bristish based only finnan..

am watching the uefa cup telecast replay now on espn to take a `2nd look' @ downing & alves...actually both looked pretty impressive.
saw a few match-up between the two, even exchange of angry words...funny they could end up as team mates next season...

i mean look at Liverpool n Man U players when they meet up for England session... dun think they will fight due to the rivaly of the 2 teams...
