J.Pennant in Benitez's bag

Liverpool have reached an agreement in principal with Birmingham City for their winger Jermaine Pennant.
Although details of the fee remain undisclosed, Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is confident that nobody else will come in with a higher offer.
The player's agent Sky Andrew has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry but the deal will not proceed unless Rafa is unsuccessful with other options that he has prioritised.
An email received overnight from a source of mine involved in the negotiations, said: "Rafa has Jermaine in the bag but he must decide whether to push ahead with the deal or buy some more time.
"The transfer fee that has been brokered is reasonable but the wages are slightly higher than a player of his age would usually command.
"Rafa has other options and Sky (agent) is aware of this, which is probably why the wages are more lucrative as Pennant is prepared to wait.
"It's an excellent back-up plan that has been thought out by Rafa and put in place by Rick (Parry)."

actually, i wonder about Pennant...
Arsenal tried their damnest to keep him out of trouble and he did anyway... which resulted in his being put out to loan and finally being transferred...
is he still wearing that tag? the one he got when he was convicted of doing something illegal and stupid?
LFC should watch out for him.. he may end up being disruptive to the locker room.. -

he might mature under benitez and stevie g guidance..at birmingham he would have no aspirations..one of the best crossers in the premiership..with lotsa pace too..

I believe pennant will matured under the guidance of benitez..
look at gerrard.. he was oso those who wun hesitate to show studs on the pitch during his younger days.. look how much he matured now..
plus pennant ios a good crosser of the ball with lots of pace.. a good solution to our right mid.. -
i hope so.. so far, he's been found guilty of drink-driving twice, punching an opponent and getting sent home (from Croatia), breaking curfew when with the national under-21 squad, sent to prison and made to wear an electronic tag for a few games last year...
when things seemed okay, he went and got himself into trouble at a nightclub in March this year...
i really hope he sorts himself out -

High chance is he will be moving to Anfield soon...
