Gudjohnsen to discuss Barca move

Chelsea have given Icelandic striker Eidur Gudjohnsen permission to go to Spain to discuss a move to Barcelona.
No deal has been reached yet for the 27-year-old, who cost Chelsea £4m six years ago, but he could cost Barca £8m.
Gudjohnsen has scored 86 goals in 263 Blues appearances, with Gianfranco Zola the only non-British player to have played more games for the club.
Andriy Shevchenko's £30m arrival will force Gudjohnsen further down the Chelsea pecking order.
Gudjohnsen would replace Henrik Larsson at the Nou Camp, following the Swedish star's return to hometown club Helsingborg.
Barcelona, who clinched their second La Liga title in a row last month, have been on the trail of several strikers.
But their attempts to land Arsenal's Thierry Henry and Diego Forlan of Villarreal were thwarted. -

y would barca need gudjohnsen? surely there r better options out there.. 8m pounds? too steep lah.. surely they can push the price lower since he is surplus to requirement in chelski..

He is a good player actually, he is just not expensive enough to play in Chelsea lah.... to be in chelsea, u need to be priced at least 15 million pounds and above

This Gudjohnsen style similiar to Scholes , MU always needs free-scoring midfielder in their team . -
I'd be surprised to see Gudjohnsen join Barcelona. They don't really need him there do they? Besides, with their enormous transfer budget, Barca could easily bring in someone younger and better.

Confirmed ! Barcelona agreed a 4 million pounds deal with Chelsea after Gudjohnsen agreed personal terms with Barca .
Just curious , why did Gudjohnsen go to one bench to another ? In Spain i'm sure he'll won't be in the starting line-up like Larsson .
Barcelona need a player to replace Henrik Larsson who's going back to Sweden . -
What's even more surprising is that the deal is worth abround 8 million pounds!
Nevertheless, I wish Eidur well at Barcelona.
