Lampard and Gerrard were disappointing. Lacking in pace and stamina, and when at the moment which mattered most, lost their nerve in the shoot-out.
Hargreaves was my man-of-the-match. Demonstrated how a defensive midfielder should play and had the legs to carry the ball all the way to the opposition's box. Hopefully McClaren has the sense to see his worth and drop the current prima donna midfielders in the squad.
One can only hope that Rooney will learn that his silly petulance cost England the game. Stupid git...... an idiot will remain an idiot until he learns.
On hindsight, perhaps SGE should have played Lennon upfront and persist with Joe Cole. I thought Crouch wasn't too bad. At least he won more balls that Rooney for the same amount of time they were on.

- simore dived when beckham return him a kick, causing beckham to get sent off.

- a argentina player broke beckham's leg before WC
- owen dived during the match, earning england a penalty n won the match, causing argentina to get knock off. -

You tell me why am I not surprise England fair badly. In fact I think they did really well to reach the quarters -
England flopped cos they are too negative against their nature .
No doubt you need to be do a Italian job to win The World Cup , but it's an Italian nature of their game to be defensive .
I still felt that to win The World Cup , you still need to score more open goals , not by penalties .
Like wise , i can't compare defensive and negative , Italy is defensive , but with a winning concept , creative and scoring goals where it matters , but England .......
Plain negative , no creation , no aggression , as such , against their offensive , attacking nature .
Conclusion : SGE ruined England with his negative style . -

i supported england when shearer was the captain, ever since beckham introduced to england squad, england has became the.sh!t!

if england still stick to same old players n choose those star players based on their past history, i dun think they can go any further.
players should drop:
michael owen - injuries prone, unless he can prove he going to score bags of goals once he recovery. else, he's as good as history.
frank lampard - the number of shots he missed in wc, he should have assisted others n not throwing chances away.
david beckham - old already, other den his taico free kick n his fashionable ear-ring, he's basically nothing. stop depending on him n give lennon a chance!
rio ferdinand - dun like his hairstyle.
players should keep:
peter crouch - make bent or defoe or rooney as starting line-up. but keep crouch as sub as crouch provides alt option, if there is no outcome, crouch might turn the tide.
owen hargraves - best player in wc tournament! he's proven he did his job well for the tournament.
lennon - new successor for beckham. england should play like 1996.
england should also look out to see whether there are any good youngsters who can play for defender.
p.s. i hope wenger can start giving more matches for walcott n start cultivate him well. who know he might be england answer in scoring.
