UEFA have confirmed that
Liverpool will be among the top seeds if they qualify for this season's Champions League.
The Reds face a two legged qualification game before entering the competition proper, but if they get through the tie they will be one of the top eight seeds in the group stages of the competition.
Manchester United are also in the elite group along with Arsenal, although Arsene Wenger's side will also need to qualify first.
Chelsea, despite being Premiership champions, have only been listed in the second group of seeds and so face the likelihood of being paired with one of the continent's top sides when the competition gets underway.
Liverpool will discover their opponents in the third qualifying round of the Champions League when the draw is made on July 28.
The draw for the group stages of the competition will take place in Monaco in August.
