New England captain announced

John Terry was today named the new captain of England.

The 25-year-old Chelsea centre-half has succeeded David Beckham as England's skipper following the Real Madrid star's decision to relinquish the armband following this summer's World Cup in Germany.
Terry will begin his reign as captain in Steve McClaren's first match in charge of the national team, a friendly against Greece at Old Trafford next Wednesday.

Whatever , both are good leaders , just that Terry will get better support from the guys i guessed , cos most will come from Chelsea .

i think it may be a blessing in disguise. ingerland is just moving into its dark ages for football; why associate with it be being the captain.
steve mcC may take the other road that sven took, but he hasn't a clue @ international level on what makes a team successful. he's a novice in this dept. his track record @ middlesbro' is pathetic. he shld hv stayed in SAF's shadow.
so stevie g, concentrate on taking the reds to the premiership these few seasons. the ingerland campaign in euro 08 and wc2010 is a forgone conclusion. ingerland will continue to stumble. -
I forsee England going out in the first group stage of Euro 2008, after just scraping through the playoffs, maybe with penalties against Serbia etc.

Bad call by McClaren. Gerrard would have been better. Clean image, passion and he sure can motivate the players.

At Boro , Gareth Southgate was Steve Mclaren's captain , Southgate a centre back , so i thought Mclaren has a passion for Centre half as captain .
