there is no such thing as first 11 in this day and age, only 1st 6, 1st 7 or 1st 8. they will form the CORE of the team, and the rest of the pieces to be fitted amongst the core. the team will be rotated for a couple of reasons:
1. tactics
2. sheer number of games in the season. very few can last the distance
the other factors are injury and player's form.
my liverpool core team are:
reina, gerrard, xabi, bellamy, finnan, carragher, momo & riise.
for me, they shld start in every game ideally.
the rest will fit in as the tactic dictates....or injuries to players.... -

actually benitez squad is abit over-congested...if all are free from injuries...more players than chelsea...wonder how benitez going to keep all his players happy -

I think if kuyt warms up to EPL, Ah Ben would push for the 4-5-1 formation.
Liverpool squad is not congested as they are different style of players for the same position.

Kuyt will be acting like a back-up for Crouch . Not likely both will play together , unless we are say 2-0 down , when we play with 3 strikers , other than that , i don't see Benitez playing Kuyt alone upfront , also unless he play Luis Garcia just behind Kuyt .
