Liverpool player nominated for FIFA World Player of Year

  Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has been nominated for FIFA World Player of the Year 2006 following his Cup Final heroics in Cardiff.
  The Reds midfielder is in contention alongside international teammates Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney.
  
  Nine other Premiership stars made the 30-man shortlist announced by world footballÂ’s governing body today.
  
  International managers and captains will now cast their votes before the ceremony in Zurich on December 18.
  
  Last yearÂ’s award went to Ronaldinho, with Lampard second and Gerrard seventh.

  think not surprise Gerrard got it ..... he almost got it last season ...... Compare to Lampard this season , Gerrard more consistent .
  
  It's alright to me he never get it , he's still young .
  
  If not , Ronaldinho will get my vote .

  Sorry pool fans but Gerrard won't win it. He has been lacklustre for Eng for past few months.
  
  My bet is on Cannavaro or Zidane.
