When Liverpool FC renew ties with AC Milan on 23 May in Athens it will be the fifth time that two clubs have faced each other in more than one European Champion Clubs' Cup final.

Liverpool, who eliminated Chelsea FC on penalties on Tuesday, 24 hours before Milan brushed aside Manchester United FC in their semi-final, were the winners when the teams met in Istanbul in 2005. On what was an unforgettable night for the Reds, they overturned a 3-0 half-time deficit and eventually triumphed on penalties to lift the European Cup for the fifth time. Should they also prevail at the Olympic Stadium in three weeks' time, the Anfield side would join the Rossoneri on six successes. -
Too good la AC Milan tonight . Just fantastic !
They just whacked 6 goals past almost EPL Champion Man Utd in 2 matches .
That show how good they were .

I do think Liverpool have the edge, though my heart wants Milan to win this.
Kuyt and Crouch are quality strikers, and Gerrard had the upper hand in Istanbul then. And Stam was in our line-up too, but not now.
The communication between Kaladze and Nesta was good in tonight's game, definitely better than Bonera/Nesta.
Seedorf plays a bigger role now and that's a plus. -

Our striking department is not as strong now, but with Seedorf playing a more attacking role and Ambrosini acting as an extra anchor, there's an improvement. -
My heart wanted a MU , why ? Cos it's my long-time childhood dream .
My head said AC Milan , why ? Cos AC Milan is an easier opponent compared to MU .
Against MU, AC Milan has got only one objective - to beat MU and meet Liverpool , and REVENGE !!!!! -

it will be the same old story .....
back in 2005 , second half , 0-3 down , Rafa sent in Didi Hamann to put a check on Kaka , it works well .....
If Didi can do a job at a age of 31 that time .....
what about Mascherano ? Our destroyer Momo Sissoko ? or Super Man-Marker Arbeloa ? This 3 can certainly do a job .
AC Milan is about putting a stop on Kaka , stop Kaka , u stop Milan ! -
The press would have a field day selling their papers writing about the revenge for 2005 CL finals.
In terms of skill and team, Liverpool have the lousy team.
In terms of age, Liverpool is the younger team.
In term of hunger, AC Milan have more reasons to beat Liverpool.
So, it is hard to say who will win the final.

If we can stop Ronaldinho/Xavi/Deco, what's stopping Liverpool from handling Kaka/Pirlo/Gattuso?
If we can throw Chelski out of the Champions League semi-finals twice, why can't we beat Milan in the finals twice?
Man U were undone by a weak defensive midfield, but Liverpool has got Alonso/Mascherano (Best replacement for Didi imo)/Momo "Run like headless chicken but got guts" Sissoko. I believe Liverpool can stifle their midfield.
It's the finals. There's only one objective. And that is to be 6-times CHAMPIONS!!!!

Manu played M.Carrick in the center of midfield...who was bullied and gruesomely raped by Gatusso during the 90 mins.
Paul Scholes did not even show up in the witness box.
We will most probably play a compact midfield formation, stop them from passing the ball in midfield and force them to play high balls.
I just hope that we will not concede silly goals from free kicks like what happened in Istanbul.
Xabi and Javier to play the center.
Javier will be the key.
He can read the opponent's attack well, he has the speed and tenancity to stop Milan's play outside the box (I just hope he don't commit too many fouls in the process).
We'll need him to be at his best in Athens.
Stevie to play on the right flank and drift inwards to win the ball when we lose possession.
Kuyt may not score a lot but he will track back all the time and fight for the ball as well.
Football is simple. The team that can't keep possession of the ball ... cannot score!
Whatever we may lack in the skill/ flair department...we can make it up by hard work, determination and passion.
Win possession and stop them from playing. That's the Liverpool way!
