defensively, milan's defence receive no applause from me.
they were caught quite a few times on counter attacks but the reds didnt punish them.
honestly, the only thing still baffles me was gerrard's attempt when he was one-on-one with dida. -

liverpool have had finishers, but they need more than that with their style of play.
they need one solid speed demon who can ALSO scores, to compliment their favourite counter attack.
cisse and bellamy have the speed, cannot finish.
morientes and fowler can finish, no speed.
none of them fit the bill.
they need just one player like henry. -

I am disappointed with Liverpool's performance.
We have 'runners' to run the entire field... create chances and NO finishers
so sad... so so sad.
Milan don't have much chances but they make full use of any that come their way results in one lucky deflection and one goal.
Mascherano did a great job while Alonso was napping. I don't know what Benitez didn't take him off and put Crouch eariler. The bean pole came in and have a decent strike on goal which Dida saved. -

liverpool problem was bascially that of finishing....
milan was defensive after the first goal and liverpool fail to score from distance or break past defence. milan has higher finishing quality. The first goal was untypical but still a credit for pirlo and inzaghi for being at right place so that is also quality.
second goal was good play between kaka the jesus man and inzaghi as the time their run well to create and open with reina to beat only
milan did not had many of the balls, but they efficiency of conversion is higher, so 2 - 1 is the end result.

Liverpool is always heading the right direction with players not paid with inflated wages.
Getting a star striker is not a solution for plugging the finishing issue.
Just look at Shevy and Bal-lack at the bridge.
They were brought in with high wages and did not perform.
As for Liverpool, Ah Ben would need a re-examination of his ultra-defensive approach and adjust his team tactics.
He would also need to learn to inspire his players to play above their level.
Liverpool have players with quality but they need better passing and more commitment to win critial games.
without good supply, the striker can only do so much.
Unless the striker requires more acting lessons for diving and getting the opponents into red card situation. -
Talk is cheap.

Usually we gets stronger after a dismay season , like winning the FA Cup or UCL something like that ....
Like in 2005 , we won the UCL , then lost to Benfica in 2006 .... and bounce back to be at Athens .
