Andriy Voronin struck his first goal for Liverpool on his full debut to give his new club a hard-fought victory in their Champions League third qualifying round first leg. The stocky Ukrainian lashed a stunning 30-yard effort into the top corner of Nicolas Douchez's net just two minutes before the break.
That was the incentive Liverpool needed to play out the second-half against an increasingly frustrated Toulouse, who will now not relish the return at Anfield in a fortnight.

I am dead surprised Liverpool went all out for a win ... although is a modest 1-0 , very much not Liverpool's style to notch a win away .
I was thinking Benitez might just kept his best players for the match against Chelsea on Sunday .

Voronin will be given more chance in League Cup, FA Cup and Champion League cos he will be the reserve striker for Ah Ben.
Ah Ben will be saving his white elephant of the season from any harm.
I guess he will be surprised that his zero-sum striker is banging goal for him.
Voronin will be the top striker for Liverpool this season.
His eye and aiming for goal is better than the rest.
