  I think we all watched soccer long enough to know that if the players thinks its a penalty.. they will stop and raise their hands and start running to ref (for some teams) and asking for a penalty.
  
  for some strange reasons, it was done. The only action was by the ref pointing to the spot.
  
  And the ref also admit his mistake later which was too late and robbed Reds their rightful points.
