Current hotshot... Micheal Owen.
Look at it, w/o Owen's opening goal... the match would have been a stalemate and he has justify his place after his injury to score the first goal to settle Liverpool's nerves.

Use to be Hyppia, the rock at the back... but now like his partnership with Biscan not so good and makes mistakes.
Gerrard is very important in midfield. -
No doubt Gerrard is impt to the Red's midfield but Owen is more impt and should I say indispensable cos when he's not around... the team can't score and lost/draw games.
Just look at the last game against Leeds. Owen was injured prior to that game. And he returned faith to GH by scoring a clinical first goal. That goal is some striker goal.
No doubt about Gerrard's excellent distribution and his duties to cover the back four but right now, he's doing too much with Hamann still injured.

With DiDi , our playing rythem might not be fluent , so does the opponent ! He's simply one kind of "Road-Hogger" , jam up the whole road if he wants to !
He's one reason why Hyypia and Henchoz are a formidable pair for the last few seasons ! 'Cos DiDi gave our defense an extra edge !
Like if you want to break H & H , you have to break this H ( Hammann ) first ! -
