Berger was never really a wide midfielder.He was more of a central attacking midfielder.He never wanted to leave Liverpool.But had to after struggling to find matches.
He was a good player but not quite good enough to play 50 games a season. -

GH's ideal tactics are based on hardworking ethics from the players in the centre and defensively strong at the back and strikers ponced on the counter attack.
Some of you have said Berger is not known for his tracking back to help the defence is pretty true. And this ain't in GH's book and it does not help that Berger was injury-prone too. But he does has some gooot power on his left foot. -
i agree. the only reason why he is bombarded until so jia lak is because he is managing Liverpool with such a great history of playing THE passing game. even when roy evans was the manager, the playing style was pleasing. We kept possession and can easily string passes after passes. when GH took over, I thought that was it for liverpool...he's a french.
