  To think that the EPL top three placing could be a distance now... A UEFA Cup win could be the tonic Liverpool FC needs.
  
  F.A Cup and other minor Cup tie would be good for the fringe and young players to get experience. Senior members likely to focus more on UEFA and perhaps savage a late comeback to get into the top three in EPL.

  i think it all depends on houllier's tactical decision. the team has shown improvement from the negative football this season, but i guess success depends on how consistent they will be. at least gh is buying the players that the team needs (kewell for the wide left, boumsong for the defence).
  
  but honestly, if i were a pool fan, i'd want houllier to resign or move upstairs or take on a position in the youth development. bring in somebody who has passion for the club.. somebody who knows what football means to the merseyside community. ian rush?

  Liverpool are joint favourites to win the Carling Cup.
  
  It depends on whether Liverpool are lucky in the draws for the future rounds in the UEFA cup.
  
  The EPL season is only a third through,there's still plenty of games to play by.Who knows?Remember those writing off Man U early last season?Man U came from 12 pts behind the leaders to win it.
