It's nice to know there is still good number of young players emerging from the scene since Figo, Zizou and some aww so talented older players will retire in the years to come.
Everton has Rooney but seemed that Liverpool Youth Academy has not nurtured a local lad as exciting and talented as some of the youths mentioned. Although we do have young starlets like Tallec, Pongolle.... they are French.
Gerrard was brought up from the Academy...likewise for Owen and Carragher but probably none as close a like say Rooney. The kinda natural ball skills and intelligence.
But all in all, it's good that the younger players has a chance to shine in the first eleven. Believed Mellor is out on loan, hope the experience by playing another team will do him good. Something special abt that lad.
