Michael Owen has warned Liverpool that he may seek pastures new should they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League this season.

Here's the denials from LFC Official website that Owen is going nowhere and said Owen was misquoted.
According to the media today, Michael Owen has issued a threat to walk out on the club he loves if they don't qualify for the Champions League. In reality, he's said nothing of the sort.

Tho He had denied to leave, the first article illustrated the potential events might happen if the current squad are not good enuff to win trophies.
On the commercial end, it'll be disastrous for LFC to lose Owen for free if he still hasn't sign soon. That will be alot worse than when we lost Macca for nothing to RM.
For the squad, definitely he will be miss since the majority of the goals past Seasons relies heavily on him. -

I some how feel that it might do Liverpool good if Owen is gone.
So that they can change their attacking formulaof long ball.... Heskey knock down for Owen to chase, try to beat defenders with his pace and score... the WHOLE EPL teams know how to handle this attacking formula liao.. that is why Reds cannot score. -
dun think liverpool will achieve anything this yr...if they end up without a CL place this season, owen might be tempted to leave..somemore, might leave on a free.....

Somehow... the way Liverpool plays mirroed to the tactics employed by GH. But credit to him, he has recently adopted a more attacking approach. But the front two's movement and play is still very much left to desire.
Heskey is deployed machiam like the gd O' days of Centre Fowards... just that he can't score a decent one. I do like to see more of Pongolle in action along with Owen. At least it's not gonna be predictable and these two speedsters do made opp defences edgy. -
Michael Owen will leave.
If Owen moves to RM, he could likely end up on the sub bench. Basically I felt he is better than Raul in term of skill but Raul is indispenable as football politics goes (Raul is fav son of RM). Ronaldo is out of question as right now he is contribute in scoring for RM.

I would think it's the best thing ever to play for your favourite team.

If Michael Owen leaves, it may not be bad. I love him and wish he would stay but if he leaves, it may wake the players up and cut out the over reliance on one player. And maybe if they bring in a striker like Tristan and Cisse, who are very good players as a team, LFC may flourish as a team

Well,it's down to Owen.He has a say in the transfer.But I will never imagine Liverpool to make the same free transfer mistake twice in the last 5 years.Plus,it's potentially a lot of money involved,At least 20 million pounds. -
