  In my opinion, The Fear Factor.
  
  Last time, teams were afraid to play us, and that was already half the battle won. Nowadays opposition teams are no longer in awe or show Liverpool the respect we used to command, even at our Fortress Anfield.
  
  We can probably blame GH for this part. He did a great job winning us a handful of cups in '01, but since then it has been rather painful to watch our Beloved Reds in action, with all their defensive tactics and all.
  
  I strongly believe we already have most of the players we need (except for maybe 1 more centreback and as jasmine17 says, 1 more creative midfielder), but they're positioned wrongly in my opinion!!
  
  Furthermore, perhaps we bought players we really didn't need, and I have to single the Senegalese pair out. Diouf and Diao are not worth the money we paid at all. Could have easily strengthened our defence with that amount of money.
