12/22/2003. Portuguese defender Abel Xavier has been told he won't be considered by Gerard Houllier upon his return from a year long loan at Galatasaray.
Xavier has been released early by Turkish giants and has been training with Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo, but is set to return to Anfield on January 1. However, Liverpool are hoping he's found himself a new club by then.
A statement on their website read: "Abel Xavier will not be given the chance to resurrect his Anfield career once his year long loan ends on January 1.
"The Portuguese international is due back at Melwood in the new year, but Liverpool are hoping he will have fixed himself up with a new club before then as he doesn't figure in Gerard Houllier's Anfield plans."
