Mm....Mr Houllier , I think the ref is right not to award the penalty ! I've seen more deliberate hand-ball than this ! I had to agree with Mr Rennie that this is a matter of ball-to-hand than hand-to-ball !
Anyway , Mr Houllier , I think Liverpool FC can perform better to win than to win with own goals and penalties !

My observation for the match:
No teamwork, no proper passing.
Wrong tactics by GH.
Empty space in the Midfield.
GH and the whole Liverpool team are to blamed for the defeat last night.
Defence:
The defence did their work last night, but the wrong person were deployed.
The defence should have started with Finnan, Risse, Henchoz and Hyppia.
Biscan was too slow to put a stop to the sly Spurs frontline.
Even the commentator of the match was puzzled why Finnan and Risse were substituted at 60 mins, too late liao.
Midfield
Cheyrou played well last night in getting all the loose ball.
But, I am not sure about GH's stupid tactics of switching left winger with right winger during the middle of the match.
It will not confuse the opponents.
Murphy is off-form. He is seen losing ball again.
Striker
Due to the defensive tactics deployed on the midfield, Owen was seem running ard as a winger.
Heskey the donkey show some trickery last night, but, blur at the six yard box.
Overall[b]
Liverpool exhibit the same pattern of play every match.
Midfield or Goal keeper pump ball into the opponent's half.
Heskey head the ball down.
"Some one" fetch the ball and score.
BUT, the ball is always lost to the opponents after a few headers.
The midfield is alway rarely seen in the opponent's half, they prefer to play defenders instead.
Last of all, I "admired" GH's courage in telling the whole world again that he will not be replaced by O'Neil.
He have now learned to lie to himself openly.

Sick of hearing his post match talk...full of crap. David Moores must be slowly packing his bag liao. Charlton is five point clear in fourth place and GH was saying he was quietly aiming for 3rd place.
The previous three wins were all fluke, 2-0 win at Yeovil was nothing but expected, 1-0 win at at Chelsea was nothing but luck and the win against Villa was crapy. What's there to be cheeky about. When it comes to the real test of quality, the current team should be more than happy at where they are lying now in the table. -

[size=large][color=red]I can't fault GH's choice of selection on players to play for each game ! I have to say if I'm GH , I won't change a winning formula too , this team has been winning since 2004 !
I only can fault him on his preparations for this game....mental preparations ! You simply can't goes into every game thinking a draw will be sufficient ! Furthermore , long ball strategies is no longer lethal in modern games !

As Mr Poolman have stated about the out-dated long ball tactic, I was wondering maybe the existing Liverpool football team should branch out and play rugby instead

Middlesbrough manager Steve McClaren appears to have given up any hope of bringing Emile Heskey to the Riverside Stadium during the January transfer window.
The Boro boss has made no secret of the fact that he would like to sign the England striker but after Gerard Houllier admitted he'd like to hang on to his No.8, McClaren looks to have ended his interest.
"I have seen what has been said at Liverpool but we did have talks and an enquiry was made," he claims. "However, they don't want to sell him and that looks like that is that with that one."

He's not sold only becos LFC is now lacking in the striking depatment. GH need enough strikers to last him till the end of the season by which. I believe, will be glad to sell him off if any club wanted him.
