The CUPs...any consolation?!

Thank goodness we played well enuff to beat the Toons. Now, we are still in for the FA and UEFA Cups.
But even if we win them, are they any good consolations for another under-achieving season? To me, the EPL title is a measure of a good team, Cups (other than ECL) are always secondary. -
[size=large]I felt that the win is not important , the most important thing is we saw a returned Liverpool !
We saw Carragher back ....we saw Owen back....we saw Hamann back , we saw Finnan , we saw our old Central defensive pair of H & H back.....and a new signing back - New Bruno , not that old Bruno we knew , a new Bruno in the name of Cheyrou !
As for Diouf , have a nice time in Africa , chap ! We don't need you , just yet ! -
Jamie Carragher was my Man of the Match yesterday.
The fighting spirit was evident for all the fans who watched the match.
For once, Biscan is not around to provide penalty for the opponents.
Bruno scored two opportunist and excellent goals.
Credit to his alertness within the 6-yard box.
Good to see the REDS team in believing themselves.
Especially the last minute save by Mr Dudek.
Sad to say, Owen is still firing blank and having to do all the hard work to bring the ball from midfield.
Although Diouf did not score goals yet for REDS, he is a good right winger.
I have faith in him.
Not so for his buddy, Diao, who is SUDDENLY well to play in the african nation cup !!!!!

Again, this current Liverpool team lacked consistency to win honours or cups.
Yes, they won this match around, but many will wonder if the next match shares the same commitment, drive and hunger for glories. Then again, many would wonder if GH would use the same old long ball-give to Heskey to knock down-and pray Owen will score tactics again. -
Yeah, consistency is wat we sorely lacks. Perhaps tat's why GH is sticking to the boring-tactics we excel in...which is rather effective when it comes to a knock-out competiton.
Tat's why we're still in with a shout as far as the Cups are concerned...but is tat good enuff for u Reds' fans?! -
... nothing less than a top 4 finish will be acceptable mate ... it was my target at the beginning and still is ... in fact i was aiming for top 3 until chelsea became chelski overnite ... but no amount of cups will or can make up for it ... -

We've been aiming for top-finishing in EPL ever since our "treble"... this season gotta be the most dissappointing! Guess it's best to be forgotten.
To me, Cups are no consolation too...but we've got to aim for the best and do our best. I can see the fighting spirit coming back to the team...let's hope they keep it up! -
Consolation or not...it's our only hopes for glory this season.
Next up is Portsmouth in the FA cup. We've lost to them in the earlier EPL match when they were on a "high". But this time, we gonna nail it esp. when they're without Sherringham.
So I expect us to march on to the Q-F stage with much ease

To any real Reds, any winning (of the trophy or title) is something to be cheered for ... consolation or otherwise!
Guess we have the baggage of our winning history on our backs, and nothing short of the EPL title would satisfy the fans.
Let's hope the team plays with more conviction and consistently and take the FA cup and then the CL spot.

If we beat The Pompeys , we will meet Arsenal .....so what ?
In fact , i thought Arsenal fear us more ! They no luck to draw against us !
Looking at our results in the EPL......we fared better with good opposition , though we won badly la !!
Remember we beat Chelsea at The Bridge ? We only lost to Pires' super goal to lose to Arsenal at home , with half strength team ! Now with almost full strength , and with Arsenal's UCL distractions , and with MU , Chelsea hot on their heels in the EPL , Arsenal would not want to meet us in the Q-Final , if given a choice , the toll is high !
Liverpool did better with better opposition , remember this ! Luckily we don't see Tranmere Rovers or Millmall or worst Sheefield United , it's one of those tougher tie than against The Gunners , trust me !
Liverpool will win at Portsmouth ! Score at 2-2 , and won narrowly on penalties ! Dudek being the Hero this Saturday ! -
Looking at our EPL losing records , we actually lost total 7 games , 6 games at 1-2 scoreline , and one at 2-3 to Charlton !
See.......most of the game lost , Pool lost at the closing minutes , like 89 minutes stuff ! And most of the game lost , we came back from a goal down , and lost eventually to late goals !
What I'm saying here , we are on par with any top team in England ! No matter who we met , they are sure to respect us a bit !
We need to curb a few habits of conceding goals ! Our record show that we don't lose games when we score first ! We tends to lose to late goal , curb this habit , and we stands a chance to meet MU in the FA Cup Final !! -
Well, it's another one down...one more to go.
Agst the Pompey, we lost fair-n-square...how to win when we're so ordinary. Even the penalty is not deserved - but must Owen be so telling?!
Now let's concentrate on the one n remaining Cup... altho my expectations are almost flat now. -
Gerard Houllier has reacted to media speculation about his job by insisting that the issue is not solely about his role and future at the club.
Houllier has come under intense pressure in the wake of Sunday's FA Cup defeat at injury-hit Portsmouth with many former players telling national newspapers that the manager should leave but the Liverpool boss insists to focus solely on him is to miss the point.
"We will keep fighting on," insisted Houllier last night. "It is not just about me, it is the team, the staff, everybody. We just have to keep working and we will, don't worry about that."

They found out that GH is a "Tai-ji" master and a "Act Blur" king.
Manchester City have suffered the same streak of winless 14 matches for this season.
Their manager, Mr Kevin Keegan, is able to stand out and take all the responsibility and blame.
That is what a true manager should do - Take responsibility.

At least our only hope for glory is still alive - a good 2nd half performance and 2 superb strikes shd be enuff to see us thru to the next round...*fingers crossed*.
