Liverpool have been dealt another injury blow to their squad with the news that Senegal international midfielder Salif Diao will be out for around three weeks with a calf injury.
Diao, just back from the African Nations Cup with Senegal, injured his calf during the reserves 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Thursday night.
Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier said: "Salif injured his calf playing for the reserves and with a calf injury it takes time to recover from. He will be out for at least three weeks."
Diao hasn't played for the first team since the Carling Cup defeat to Bolton at Anfield on December 3rd.
Talk about a player who alway suffered injury at the "right " moment !
Diao was serving his native country few weeks ago and return with a injury in the reserves match.
So much for his contribution to Liverpool !
