ALL LIVERPOOL FANS!
WILL LIVERPOOL WIN THE TITLE IN THE COMING YEARS?
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE PROBLEM WITH THE TEAM NOW?
WHO SHOULD GO AND WHO SHOULD WE BUY?

With the existing set of management committee,
VERY DIFFICULT !!!!
If they are just satisfied of tailing Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea, they will be lagging more.
Can see the rise of the mid-table team like Charlton, Aston Villa and Briminghan.
This present team and GH have brought out the best of their last.
Time for change.
For Liverpool to be mighty again, unless they have a strong base of youth players.
That would take another 5 years.
So, my conclusion is Liverpool is HISTORY and Stay as HISTORY. -
Not with Gerald Houllier in charge. Period.

The problems with LFC now is that they have been too negatives and at times , very defensive ! Too scare to concede goals , 'cos at the bottom of their heart , they know they can't score too much !
The way they approach the games also one kind nowadays !
They must wait until their opponents score a goal then they start attacking ! They would rather drawn the games then to win !
The board has been too lenient and patient towards GH , and I thought , with the new Roman revolutions in the EPL , this leniency , and old habits of not sacking the boss , must be abort and change , for the good !
Diouf for one , must go ! Take back some money and invest on the new breed of players from the academy !
Diao would be a certain head chop for the new season !
Biscan too , has been on the critics , I felt he should go too ! Give Ostemobor a chance to shine !
Hyypia and Henchoz too , have to give way to a new partnership in Liverpool's defense !
Bring Carragher back into central defense and bring in a new right back who can make better crosses than Carragher !
Murphy , i think , will go !
Who knows , Owen will go too !
Those who will be staying put will be Gerrard , Carragher , Riise , Dudek , Kirkland , Cheyrou , Baros , Le tellac , Sinama , Kewell , Hamann
The rest , we just need to see ! -

I personally feels that the current Liverpool team is lost and confused. The players are not playing at the role they are familar with, they dont know if they should go all out to attack or to defence in numbers.
Guess its largely due to the manager who's lost too. Not knowing what to do and how to make use of the strong points of individual players. Players are given role where they are totally not familar with. Midfielder became defenders.... strikers became wingers.... left winger is made to play right.... end up the player dont even know which leg he supposed to kick the ball with.
new blood is needed... and we do have new blood but the ones taken in were based on a moment of brilliance in the world cup.
Serial killer... think the only one he killed is his scoring ability.

I think lately...newcastle R much more consistent and stronger than liverpool.....N they R improving but liverpool on decline..
The main problem really is the manager. Thou he may love the club but wats the point. He's jus not good enough for liverpool.
Liverpool is not jus any normal premiership team and they need to strt winning things. The league esp..but wif Houllier arnd can 4get it. End up midtable -
Kirkland must shrug off his injury woes and claim 1st choice.. dudek can stay as back up
hyypia shd be rested for quite while, he looked jaded now... I tink he is the player who played the most matches and getting little rest.
carragher can play as centreback but need to improve on his reading of the game.
riise can play leftback but need to improve his defending.
henchoz can stay as a backup.
we need 2 more centrebacks , good and steady one.
Biscan can go
Give Ostembor a chance at rightback
As for midfield.
Kewell , Gerrard, Hamann can stay..
Diao, Diouf , Murphy, cheyrou, smicer can go if got clubs want them
As for striker,
Heskey can go ..
Owen , Baros , Sinama, Le Tallec(can be groomed as attacking midfielder) can stay
Possible signings
1)Cisse to replace clumsy Heskey
2)Mexes to replace aging Henchoz
Recommended signings
1) Ayala(argentina) as centreback
2) Michael Tonge (promising youngster)
Jus cant believe Houllier still can get 30m to spend after such a poor season and so much spending..

Perhaps GH will do a "ferguson" next season...remember he was on the fringe of being sacked the season b4 the manure started their winning streak?!
More realistically tho, we'll wait for GH's successor to build on wat we have now - I'm quite sure we do not lack qualities in the squad. But shd the person decide to re-build, then I'm afraid we'll have to wait a while longer.
Anyway, let's be hopeful!

Future looking bleak for him anyway nowadays , the board apparently has not talk of extending his current contract which ends somewhere end of next season ??.....so......L'pool will be great again , starting from the season after next ! -

However, any die-hard will know tat his time is running out real fast. But the thing abt the future is tat nothing is for sure... we cannot be assured tat his replacement will be a success. -

If you look at the squad of Fulham , Aston Villa , Charlton , Birmingham , or even Bolton ..... and with the squad Liverpool have ..... the ratio of money spent is so much so that , I can say their mgr and players have done a good job !
There's something wrong GH has done to Liverpool still , that very smtg is the man himself , nothing to do with the players ! The players are told to do something , whether or not they like it , this is so called "plan" for GH !
I've got a feeling the players are told to do smtg against their potential or their likings , that's why we see a see-saw Liverpool ! The players are told to do things , not to the extent of expressing themself on the pitch ! Which makes a big diff here !
Well , my philophy is , any mgr can handle Liverpool , even better ! -
Ever since i knew abt soccer when I was not even 6, Liverpool has been my team for the last 21 years...I am now 27 and it pains me to see Liverpool in such a state. Deep down in my heart, I know people are mocking, laughing the great once was. Liverpool was great, to me, it IS still great becos of the club itself. It irks me and pains me to see Liverpool struggling to beat teams like charlton etc.. but to me, LIVERPOOL is always GREAT! Regardless whether it wins or loses, it will always be a GREAT TEAM becos simply it is LIVERPOOL. This is the real KOP spirit. And of cos, I understand all the brothers here, I really want us to win but lets not forget why we supported LIVERPOOL in the first place (maybe its just myself), its not becos we won things, but becos of who it is. But....I really do hope we can be champions again.
GoalKeeper: I think Kirkland is good, very good and young. Dudek is steady enuff albeit a few glaring mistakes but he should be reliable enuff till Kirkland is ready to step into regular football.
Defence: Hypia is still good enuff for a few seasons. What he needs is someone young and fast like Mexes. In my view, GH should buy at least 1 more central defender, Mexes: a promising one and if money permits, buy someone who is more matured and experienced like Walter Samuel (hahaha, i know its quite impossible but someone like him lah). As for right back, I think we have enuff in Carragher and Finnan, not forgetting Ostemobor. At left back, I think that we should buy Lizarazu at free transfer. Riise is good for the first choice but sometimes he is caught dead when he attacks. Lizarazu provides experience, though in attack, at 35, he should be lacking. Of cos if GH can find someone who is younger, the better.
Midfield: When the hype of Kewell was high, I was not really happy. True Kewell is good. But he is not someone like Kaka, Rivaldo, Zidane. What we really need is a central midfielder, a playmaker who can make things happen. We have very fast wingers in Smicer, Kewell and I can tell you DIOUF makes a very good winger though he was bought as a striker. Murphy is definitely a player that must stay. He is too good to be allowed in other premiership teams. If we can have Kewell on the left, Murphy/Diouf/Smicer on the right, Gerrad and a playmaker in the central midfield, we would do good.
Striker: What can I say. Owen is currently one of the best. Despite playing only 34 games,he got 17 goals. considering our season, that is a good haul of 1 in 2 games. Although Heskey doesnt score many goals, i felt he is very much unfairly criticised. He does bring alot to the team in other areas but I wuld not be surprised if he leaves. if cisse comes, then I would be very excited to see a team of Owen, Cisse, Baros (though he must improve on his finishing) and Pongolle. -

we need a play maker. Someone who runs from deep and take a crack at goal or make a through pass to someone running into the box.
forget about Heskey heading it down for Owen to chase.... that's totally useless these days.
Personally I felt that the problem with Liverpool is the midfield and they dont have this idea of attacking is the best form of attack. They rather defend in numbers.... all 10 players in the own half.
If the midfield can stop the opponent from advancing... then it wont be too tough for the defence to handle.
One more thing.... please work on passing and crossing. Sometimes ball is given away too cheaply by the players. Crosses that comes in either dont make it pass the defenders or no one is at the end to meet a good cross. -
and to think not too long ago, LFC was so well-known for their passing prowess that they werer often accused of playing too elaborate football, often passing so much that the chance is gone...

Give Houllier some more time. Fergie only won his first league title in his 7th season. Houllier is now in his 6th season.

well, fergie nearly got sacked his fourth season.
man utd was languishing near the bottom of the table.
and arsenal is just too good this season.
i think a manager can only do so much. everything else is done on the field. in the end, we don't want a control freak like fergie is. -
i think we haven't found that 'special' player yet.
one that does magic and brings the team together.
man utd had cantona, arsenal has henry, real had zidane.. great teams had a special player at their peak. steven gerrard still have not met the mark.. maybe in time he will.. -
