Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey has revealed he enjoyed his time at Anfield and admits he's got nothing to prove now that he has left.
Heskey brought the curtain down on his four year career with the Reds last week when he signed a pre-contract agreement to join Birmingham City.
He's currently away with the England squad in Sardinia as the final preparations are made ahead of the European Championships but he took time out from training to speak fondly of his time on Merseyside.
"I enjoyed myself a lot at Liverpool, it was brilliant," says Heskey.
"My first two seasons were especially good as I was playing regularly and really well.
"Obviously after that it wasn't so good and I had a lot of ups and downs since then, on and off the bench and with a few injuries.
"It's always nice to have a fresh challenge. It came to a stage at Liverpool where I felt I needed to move on to get going again.
"I don't really think that I have a point to prove though. What sort of point do I need to prove? I will just go out there and play." -

He will be a reserve player for the Blues.
Do u think the manager would pamper him ??

Eventually he will find his way to Division One.
That is where he belong.
He is over-paid and under-performing. -

Liverpool don't know how to make the best out of good player! Too many example. They must change the trainer and assistant manager,now we shall see how good is this new pool manager!

I've never doubted his commitment to the club...so in a way, his comments also prove tat he's no sour-grapes. I wish him all the best at Birmingham!
