In a certain sense, he has pressure too....as much as Houllier sucks..but HE DID win the UEFA CUP, FA CUP and LEague CUp...so Benitez gotta to do more than that in 5 yrs..
In my opinion, he has to at least win the League twice in 5 yrs to be considered better than Houllier or else he might just be worse. -
houllier did a great job until his fateful heart attack.
it's good we got benitez over mourinho. not that it's sour grapes, but mourinho is too arrogant. even bill shankly was humble in victories.
how benitez will fare, that remains to be seen. the spanish and english league are in it's own breed -

So rest be assured tat he knows wat is expected of him...I guess 3-5yrs is a reasonable, altho he's smart enuff not to add pressure to himself by saying the time-frame out loud. Tat's my man!

We have industrious players in Gerrard and Murphy but we lacked the creative edge in the middle.
Saw him playing for Valencia... he might be small in size but he's not someone who gets pushed ard that easily. -
First , let him talk to his players first !
I'm sure some of the younger chaps from the academy will have their chance !
Some heads will roll obviously ! I think Smicer will go , Cheyrou will too , Biscan too , Hamman I'm afraid will give way to a faster fella too ! Benitez never believe in tall fellas , he believe in mobilities than height !
In short , Aimar will be a good addition , we needs more brains in LFC !

Yes,I believe in Benitez's quality.
I can see Liverpool immediatedly mounting a title challenge next season.They may not win it because of the quality of Arsenal and Chelsea but they will be closer than this season.
A good run in the European competitions is achievable as well.Not to mention a couple of local cup wins.
If Benitez models the team to play as Valencia,Liverpool will certainly be a team to watch.
Benitez is quality.He has won championships before and he knows what it takes to win.This is an important asset and I am delighted that Rick Parry made the decision to axe Houllier for Benitez. -
Fm press reports so far, he has certainly done some positives:-
*** attempting to keep key players like Stevie n Owen but hinting tat they're not must-haves to win titles. He stressed tat it is more important to get the team structure right and play together as one team rather than individuals....quote:
'A good player can win one match but a good team can win four, five matches. If you have a good team you can win more matches and that is what you need to win titles.'
*** assuring youngsters the chance to prove themselves...quote:
"Every manager wants good players in their Academy because at the end of the day it makes life easier for us if we are able to use these players...They know about the spirit of the club and give that something extra."
