PRE-SEASON-ing

Beni's 1st match as Reds' boss started positively with a 2-1 victory over Wrexham.
But wat's interesting is tat he used this match to try out the fringe and young players. Take a look at the line-up:-
Liverpool (1st half): Kirkland, Finnan, Traore, Hyypia, Medjani, Biscan, Welsh, Murphy, Cisse, Kewell, Le Tallec.
Liverpool (2nd half): Dudek, Diao, Whitbread, Warnock, Riise, Raven, Potter, Pongolle, Otsemobor, Foy, Le Tallec.
Le Tallec scored both goals, Pongolle was lively, Biscan impressed in MF. And Cisse has a reasonable depute outing.
I'm beginning to like this "quiet" man (as opposed to Mr Mourn at Chel$ki). And I hope he'll bring in the few "qualities" tat he hinted soon.
Now it's off to the US for more warm-ups!

Nice to see Benitez trying out what's best for which player ! Like Biscan is best for defensive midfield duty , Diao too......

Hopefully with Biscan returning to his rightful position, he can perform better -
El Hadji Diouf was not even given a squad number.His "9" has been taken by Cisse.
Diouf's future at Anfield looks bleak. -

Quite shocked to learn tat Le Tallec has pulled out of the US tour at his own request!
Seems like he's looking for a club to spend the coming season - a sign to reconsider his future with LFC!?
It'll be a shame if a player of his potential will not be contributing in the new season, if not at all in the future!

Maybe Benitez is right , he gets on-loan to other club and gets better coming back ! The question is : If he's playing well for that particular club , does he wants a come-back at Liverpool ? If I'm Antoiny Le Tellac , I wouldn't !

The 20-year-old midfielder told Benitez he expected to be an automatic choice this season.
Benitez hasn't even given such a guarantee to some of his more senior players. With four top class strikers competing for two forward positions, Le Tallec's expectations stunned Liverpool officials.
The youngster stayed on Merseyside to find a club to take him on loan for a year while the rest of the squad jetted out on Saturday.
While Le Tallec is still seen as having a big future on Merseyside, Benitez decided it would be better for the youngster to spend a year elsewhere.
However, the Reds want a fee for Le Tallec's services - effectively 'renting' the player as much as loaning him.
So far, only St Etienne have shown an interest in Le Tallec's services. The Reds will consider offers from England.
"I spoke with Anthony and I wanted him to come here with us," explained Benitez. "But he said if there was a possibility of him finding another team he would stay on Merseyside.
"He wants to play but I explained to him it's difficult at Liverpool because we have four very good forwards. So it may be good for him to find another team for a year.
"If it's good for him it will be good for us later." -
le tallec is deperate for 1st team football..
he is still not there yet i think..
and i personally think that he is a good youngster.
we need to keep him...

Dun mean to read too much into it, but the whole thing dun seem right - pulling out of a pre-season tour at last minute is not a good sign at all. I fear for his future with LFC! -

Benitez shd try to sign one more winger who can play either right or left cos We have too many injury proned wingers...Kewell included.
