on the bright side, Baros now have a chance to prove his real worth... and for once we can play without relying too much on 1 player...

Micheal Owen need new challenges, but he should have moved on last year.
This year EPL is more exciting as the star strikers are evenly spreaded and numerous change in coaches.
Man Utd will suffer some serious defeat for the first five matches, but it will assist Alex in building better team spirit.
As for Liverpool, the team have not settled down yet so defensive play may come into picture. -

Liverpool were forced to as Owen didnt seem interested in a new contract... from the club's point of view, Liverpool had to sell or this will end up like the McManaman case... where we get nothing due to bosman ruling... -

I believe Owen will do well in Madrid.
Purely because of the players he will be playing alongside.Figo,Beckham,Zidane,Carlos.These players will create chances and make any forward look good.
But the thing for Owen is to get ahead of Ronaldo,Raul and Morientes in the team.I wonder what jersey number he'll take? -

Actually what is the real driving force that convince Owen to sign for Real Madrid ?
Is it money ?
Is it Murphy ?
Is it trophy ?
Is it Benitez's style ?
Is it Rick Parry ?
Is it Houllier ?
There's so much factors I can think of , but if you're Owen , what actually drive you on to sign for R.Madrid ? -
According to the newspaper, it seems that it is Ah Ben that set Owen up for Real Madrid.
I guess Owen dun want to leave Anfield, but he is unable to be guaranteed a first team with Ah Ben around.
Maybe after talking with Ah Beck, he may have realised that Real may be a good place to spend his new season.
But, he being a English man, may face the same problem as Ah Beck in fitting into the Spanish Community.
He will be a secondary citizen to Raul, and he could be playing less games.
Most of all, he have to buck up in all areas, esp in taking penalty.
Real will not be as lenient as Liverpool for a striker that cannot take penalty.
So, maybe Ah Ben have to make the painful decision as he dun want to be pressurised by any old boys. -

find it ironic that the media had been raging about Viera leaving Arsenal... at the very end, he didnt move, instead Owen was the 1...
Viera said his love for Arsenal prompted him to reject Real Madrid... the same can't be said of Owen...

Owen will never take penalty for Real , reason is so obvious , Real have Carlos , Raul , Ronaldo , Zidane , even Becks ...so rest assure , he needs no bucking up on penalties taking ! He needs more than that !
If Owen thinks he's a complete striker at a tender age of 24 , think again !

... i'm actually disappointed he decided to go ... i thought he could have stayed 1 more yr n see how ah ben perform ... i also have this thought that the agents played a huge part in this ... after all he shares the same agents as becks ... we were in a major disadvantaged position so we could only get bullied ... yeah he took a paycut my arse ... but no way should we pay him around 100k a week ...
