personally, i dont see a diff from how the player perform before and after GH left.
i simply cant see the desire in liverpool players winning the ball on 50-50 situations. in the second half, spurs defenders were given all the liberty to kick the ball around in their own half without any form of pressure but not vice versa!
basically, only gerrard and josemi were the players doing all the work.
each liverpool player is paid at least S$100k per week, but they lose possession and made mistake like those schoolboys fooling around the void deck.
i still stick to what i said last season. it was really not all about the coach, players are partly responsible as well.
i dont expect magic from ah ben in the first competitive game. however, if the players still prefer to play with so little determination and aggression, who coach also the same lar. -
The squad is not fully assembled yet i guess !
We shall see Alonso , Nunez and Garcia in the squad , then we can see a more potential Liverpool ! -

squad fully assembled or not is a seperate issue altogether from the ability and mentality of individual.
u can give ah ben a squad of 50 top players, but if none of them has the determination to win the game, they will still fare below 11 regular players who does. -
they still need someone who will make them have the fire in their guts to go out there and give their everything and be passionate about the game or even better, passionate about the game AND the club...
you saw the technical skills the French had at their disposal... they had not fire in their bellies and went out rather cheaply in the world cup -

and liverpool squad is now very thin... no murphy, no owen, no tallec...
we need to strengthen our squad!!! and one important area is what we've all know, we need a playmaker! now we don't even really have a attacking midfielder who plays in the centre...
remember gary mac? he's the sort of guy we need... a player with the ability to create chances... -

The aggressiveness in play is evident when the reserved Man Utd Team play Arsenal met during the Community Shield.
It was shown in Liverpool during the pre-season.
Today, that is MISSING.
Although there is revamp in the manager, the players play a major role in creating goals.
Can see tonight that Cisse and Baros is trying very hard and alone to get the ball from Midfield to the Opponent's penalty area.
The hole is still exsiting in midfield.
We dun have a holding or creative midfielder to do that job.
Steven should be used as reserve, he is still not consistent and not making his presence felt.
Sad to say, I dun see good ball passing and vision in this first match.
Questions will be ask on Ah Ben whether he have cleared house too fast and too eager.
The sale of Murphy and Owen seem to have affected the moracle of the team.
Strange decision for Ah Ben to remove both the strikers, he seem to be settling for a draw.
But, it is still early in the season to make any conclusion.
I will wait and see.

liverpool got a new manager. spurs also got themselves a new manager.
liverpool fielded 2 new faces. spurs played 6 new faces.
based on the above equation, with addition of stats and salary difference of the players, spurs shouldnt have gave liverpool all the headaches, but they did.
i question the players' willpower and desire to perform.
my verdict to this match is "sia suay". -
After the Spurs - Liverpool match , i can see a few problems lying ahead for Liverpool !
First we still in need of another top notch striker even if Benitez fields Baros and Cisse on his first 11 , Sinama is not good enough , still has a alot to offer !
Think again , we have Champions League almost every midweek , and follow by weekends , there'll sure be a EPL fixture , Baros and Cisse , one of them injured , how ?
From Spurs' match , Benitez used Kewell as a back-up striker , hope that it's not a long term thing ! It'll not work in long terms !
2ndly , Murphy's position is sorely missed ! I missed his one-twos , splitting-passes , through-balls ...we need someone of Murphy's mode in Liverpool's set-up , sadly , he left ! So sad too , Murphy's Charlton was thrashed 4-1 at Bolton !
3rdly , we are in need of a players that can run at defenders , at Spurs' game , we don't see someone that run after their defense and create some havoc for them , we are in need of several input of players !
Or alternativesly , bring back Cheyrou , maybe he can do a Murphy's Law for LFC !

So many time liverpool let us down when we were expecting them to perform... -
All the fans in the Liverpool Forum have faith in the team.
No matter how bad they perform, the forum is alway behind them.
But, the root of problem seems to be the team itself dun have much belief in themselves.
Either they are not match-fit or they have a attitude problem.
I dun see the passion of playing soccer in them.
I just catch a glimpse of the match between Biringham and Portmouth this morning.
Although the two team are playing their first match, they play it like a cup final.
Lots of tackles, lots of running and lots of HUNGER.
Simple word - Exciting.
Liverpool's match = Most boring match of the evening.
I am alway surprised that all the writers of the newspaper are lenient with Liverpool, expecting them to play better next match.
The present batch of Liverpool team are dishing out shit last season.
They will carry on to dish out shit.
If they are going to give out shit, I rather the LIVERPOOL TEAM be relegated.
They are not champion material.
Owen left at the right time.
Arsenal will win the league again this season.
I am a die-hard Liverpool fan.
But, this team really have a serious attitude problem, changing the manager will not cure the problem.

i was thinking the same thing when i see the way our players play...
no desire to win, not enuff determination, not enuff passion...
how i miss Fowler, Berger, McManaman(my fav player last time) etc... imo they at least showed more passion as a Liverpool player... and the 4-3 fightback wins over Newcastle etc... though that wasn't really very long ago, they were my favourite moments as a Reds supporter...
nevertheless, we should not judge too early... the team isnt the end product yet... -

Let's be patient!
It's the 1st match - away to our jinx team... altho basing on 1st-H performance, we shd've won.
This is how I see our team's performance:-
Defence - reasonable...Josemi easily outshone the rest in terms of commitment - shame on the rest!
Midfield - Stevie was ok in 1st-H but missing in 2nd; Hamann n Finnan was average; while Kewell still in holiday-mood - I can't believe how uncertain and sloppy he was!
Striker - Cisse shd be our new hero in making...a good instinctive goal! Baros was dissappointing; wat happened to his trademark runs-at-defenders?!
Overall, we did alright in the 1st-H...but 2nd was a sham! I dun see the spirit of the team...but like to think it's due to the shock departure of mr drag-2-long owen.
We're in serious need of some fresh "exciting" signings to lift the spirit of the team and the fans! I hope it'll happen sooner rather than not. -
Owen leaving might change things for e good.... previously our team plays one dimensional... frankly I dun find owen and heskey are really good at setting up plays like ruud van nis...
but things are changing...if u have a keen eye, the way they are playing against spurs indicate the willingness to be more daring.... they now dare to switch play from flank to flank.... i remember Didi try one cross field pass...though kenna intercepted but it is good team dares to try new things...
but i cant say much for Dudek... letting in a goal from near post shows his fundamentals are not sound.. hope Benitaz will recall Krikland...he is the future of England No. 1...
