She's got to be independent. I can't say for everybody and its best not to paint with too broad a brush, but my preference has always been on a chick's independence and confidence.
Is she determined? That's also incredibly attractive to me. I can't stand a girl who will constantly give in. She has to give as good as it gets. It can't be shabby if she's got a sense of humour or doesn't take offence easily.
Of course, as everyone else pointed out, it helps if she's hot. But that's not the deal-clincher for me.
