I don't think she meant it .... anyway, don't take it serious. I am sure she is going through a bad patch that's why she said such nasty things that she shouldn't hvae done ... not a good excuse through.

yes she did and she still does. her reason is so that i can enjoy a good life after i graduate and of cos, so that i can take care of them when they are old. what she said has truth in it, I like to think of myself as someone who is fair so I won't deny that what she said is true. But last time if I dun get a near perfect score in my tests, she will really cane me. or slapped me. or did a lot of other things that can be considered as abuse. but i just bit the bullet and din say anything because they are my parents and i respect them to a certain extent. but i can't say i really love them for what they have done to me.Originally posted by InnoHippo:

i have never really enjoyed my childhood and teenage years because all they want me to do is study. even when i go out they will go with me to make sure i dun spend too much time outdoor. when i come back, it will be study time again. how can you love someone who did this to you?
i know it is all for my own good, but if next time i have my own kids, i will never ever treat them in this way, even if i want them to have a good life after they grow up.

Parents say things that hurt the hardest because we depend on them for support and they are supposed to be the closest people to us. However, they too are human and get caught up in the heat of the moment. Your mum is just disappointed, she probably had high hopes and aspirations for you, and wants you to study hard so that you can live comfortably. She wants the best for you, no matter how proud she may be to admit it.

There is no excuse for such behaviour even if she's going thru a bad patch...It's an e-mail, for goodness sake...There's no Freudian slip here...If she had any intention of even considering your feelings, she would have edited her e-mail before she sent it...
