Wah... I really admire carefree people. Sometimes, I really worry too much. Hard not to get suckered into the rat race when you're living in a fast-paced materialistic society though.Originally posted by the Bear:actually having an aim in life instead of enjoying the ride

Good. Then your material commitment will be at a minimum and you should be free of the rat race in no time.Originally posted by Rhonda:Actually, SURPRISE!!! That IS my plan! haha! No way I'm gonna buy a car in Singapore, man! Too darn expensive!
Well, my attitude - I don't spend my whole life working in preparation of living just a few more years (Medical cost). If I have to die because of insufficient fund to treat illness later, so be it!Originally posted by Rhonda:Actually, come to think of it, I'm also scared that I won't have enough funds for retirement. I always dream of an 'early retirement' so I can relax and take time to smell the roses but I think with the high cost of living here, it's not so easy.
Also, I know of a lot of old couples who end up having a lot a lot of savings, but the minute one of them falls ill, the hospital bills eat up into their money. It can be quite scary.
Do you feel it's too early to plan for retirement now? I do have a reputation amongst my friends for 'thinking too much'.
