My First Sashimi!!

Hey, guys!! Would you believe that I tried Sashimi for the very first time this afternoon?
Historic event! hehehe! 
I know it's nothing to most of you but for me, it's a huge step! I used to pick out the slivers of raw fish in the Chinese New Year's Raw Fish Salad too so this is a huge huge 'achievement' of sorts for me! -

how? nice or not? the trick to eating sashimi is to mic the wasabe in with the soy sauce and then dip the sashimi in it b4 eating.

By the time I actually sat down to try it, I was free of any preconceived thoughts and just tried it gingerly. It actually tasted pretty good! I tried Raw Salmon and ... can't remember the other one. What was it?
Did you dip yours in wasabi? I think it tastes better that way. I was really pretty surprised that it was that good. -

You know what made me decide to try sashimi? The really beautiful display at this nice Japanese restaurant I went to with a friend. The sashimi there was really really fresh and so, the sashimi actually looked alluring!
Also, it piqued my curiosity when my friend looked like he enjoyed his sashimi SOOoooOOOoo much! hehehehe! Made me super curious! This guy has great taste so anything he likes is worth trying. *wink wink!
And Heng, you're right, wasabi mixed in soy sauce really makes the sashimi good. -

I was most worried abt the chewing part but to my surprise, its super soft & it sort of melted into my mouth. Cannot take spicy so i soaked the salmon in the soya sauce wif a wee bit of wasabi only. Good texture, and it tasted kinda sweet. And very very fresh! -
