I think it doesn't matter how much one gives per se, as long as you give from your heart.
To a rich man, $1 is nothing but to a school student on an allowance, $1 might be 10% or more of his daily allowance. There's a passage in the Bible illustrating this concept - how much is not important, it's HOW you give - willingly and with a loving heart?
Besides, charity should not be an avenue for boasting so why declare how much you gave? What's the purpose in that? Charity should be a gift with a low-profile.

You are not supposed to advertise to the whole world how much you donated or ask people how much they gave. -
yup i think that the amount that u gave is not important at all... As long as u tried your best to help to donate something and you feel that that is the most u can give, thats good enough already...

my parents asked me this question which i felt really disappointed with them
they asked me how much i donated on our way to drop me to sch on the way,
i said i cant remember because i really forgot and they asked is it really forget. then i remembered i gave 2 bucks and they laughed, abit like why i donated only 2 dollars..
