Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe

Who has read the complete Chronicles of Narnia by C S Lewis? I read it as a kid and loved the series tremendously. There was something magical about it and when you read it, you're transported to an entirely different world.
I would place this series in the same genre as The Neverending Story and The Labyrinth.
Good news... the very first installment in the series shall be released as a movie this year! Hopefully, the movie does the book justice. What with the advances in CGI, the potential for the movie being an awesome one is staggering!
Really look forward to its release!
Who else are Narnia fans? -
i jus saw 'the faraway tree' trilogy out at times.... so tempted to get...

read a couple of the books but never got to continue
my school library did not have the complete set and even if there is, its always in someone's hands...

The Last Battle was extremely sad...
But I think it's one of those classic which shld b left untouched.
Don't think any director or amount of CGI will do justice to the Lion, not to mentioned the assortment of creatures in the stories.
An animation of the series will do jus fine by me.

Yep. think it's one of the best series whether you're a child or adult. I have the complete set and read them again and again.
I got mine from Sunny bookshop (Far East Plaza) for $40.00 for the complete set; borders and kino usually - >$70.00. -

FYI, JK Rowling says she draws much inspiration from CS Lewis. Isn't it a coincidence that both planned to write 7 books in a series? -
They are by different publishers (British vs American) but the books are all the same, it's just the aesthetics and font are different. Actually I prefer the editions sold at Sunny; maybe it's just that I prefer british publishers than US.Originally posted by Rhonda: Wah! Such a huge price difference! From what I remember, Sunny has 2 types of box sets (large & small). The large is $40.00-$45.00 and the small is $30-$35. But this was early last year that I bought mine so they might have increased the price but certainly not to borders or kino prices. -

I didn't like this series I read it late, in my 20s. Felt too airy-fairy to me.
But the movie should be interesting. I imagine it to be something like Peter Pan the movie.
