Obstacles to Love?

To be honest, it will affect me initially on how the person looks like, but over time, the beauty of their character will outweight their physical attributes!
I sure don't look perfect, so I don't expect my other half to look so very handsome either! (if he does, I'd better beware and I'd feel rather insecure cos he can leave me anytime for someone who is thinner & more model-like
). And, isn't it so that when you fall in love with another, you somehow find the other person more attractive, somehow? 
To borrow a very common saying, "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!"

haven't you met someone you felt physically unattractive at first, and slowly this person just GROWS on you? It's very funny, but when you begin enjoying the presence of this person, his bald patch slowly doesn't matter anymore and you start to find his super bright grin cute, his belly doesn't matter anymore and you start to develop a liking for bearish guys... his pockmarked skin doesn't matter anymore and you get so amused and turned on by his easy going charm and sense of humour
and then all of a sudden, you don't understand why you didn't see all this in the first place?! -

Love is not blind... it just CHOOSES to be blind to the physical flaws because of the love for that person. It's the conscious choice to be blind that is the beautiful, touching thing here, I think.Originally posted by kops21:Love is blind. -

What all of you said in here so far, is so very true.
There could be someone who isn't pretty / handsome in the conventional sense but they have such beautiful personalities that we start to see them in a different light.
It's kinda like an experience I had recently. I walked into this voluntary organisation's training session and see all these folks sitting in the lecture room and there were fat ones, skinny ones, tanned ones, fair ones, ... all sorts, but they all look radiant and beautiful simply because they are all giving their time and themselves to needy and sick children.
That made the whole room of peeps instantly beautiful to me and I was so happy being admidst these bunch of folks.
I never had a problem with looking past a person's physical appearance but always wondered about what others thought about this issue. Today, when I was out with a forumite, I just had to ask him if guys would think that me being bwee bwee was an obstacle towards liking me. hehehe. And that sparked this discussion. -
